First snow in Wallace Park - Glenfarg ❄️

TRACKS worked with The Friends of Wallace Park to install a 280m tarmac footpath in July 2021 in the park as part of wider improvements.

The plans drawn up by Perth and Kinross Council with Community input included the extension of the children’s play area, an adult gym trail, extension of the path to include the whole of the park area, additional picnic benches, community park notice board and additional planting and landscaping including a wetland area.

The work on the Auld Mart Road to Burleigh Sands path was completed this week. 🎉 We think it is looking really good - particularly the section through the woodland to the north of the carpark.👌🏼 More ergonomic replacement steps have been installed at this section. Please check it out and share your thoughts and comments with us.
The contractors have now moved to Kirkgate park to resurface two short sections as you enter the park from the town centre side.

Fantastic progress on the Sunny Park to Mary’s Gate path today. The whin dust surface was added to the base which was laid yesterday. Work is now complete as far as the bridge. We’d like to thank everyone that supports our work observing the ‘path closed’ notices. This is very much appreciated. Tomorrow we will be starting at Mary’s Gate working back towards Sunny Park.

And we’re off!! 🎉
Work has commenced on the Sunny Park to Mary’s Gate path. The “type 1” material has been laid at the Sunny Park bridge and the whin dust surface should be added tomorrow. This will make it much easier and safer for those on wheels as the “lip” to get onto the bridge is now filled in providing a more accessible path for all.

**TEMPORARY PATH CLOSURES** - Loch Leven Heritage Trail Upgrade and Repair
Phase 4 of the upgrade and repair work to the Loch Leven Heritage Trail is scheduled to commence on 15th September and be completed by 31st October 2025. During this period the paths linking communities to the Heritage Trail will be closed to users in the following order:
1.Sunny Park to Mary’s Gate
2.Findatie – west and east ramps
3.Old Mart Road to Burleigh sands
These paths are badly in need of repair and upgrade due to the worn surface and sections where water lies, particularly after heavy rain. The patience and understanding of users whilst the paths are closed is much appreciated.

We would like to thank the funders of our work; Perth and Kinross Council, The Arthur and Margaret Thompson Charitable Trust and Paths for All – Ian Findlay path fund.

It’s a very hot day, but local dry stone waller, Jim Grant, is busy reshaping the wall and widening the aperture at the Boathouse beside the boardwalk. This is a piece of partnership working to enable the trishaws and adaptive bikes to have safe access to this part of the heritage trail.
