The Two Lochs Project aims to 'care for and share with the young people of South Lochaber' and provides youth clubs, resources, and services for young people in the villages and communities around the two lochs. The youth project provides and supports youth clubs in many of the different villages, neighbourhoods, and communities in the area and the Youth Worker, Justin Richards, is based in Kinloc
hleven High School. Some of the clubs and activities the Project supports include:
~ [space]: a lunchtime drop-in (meaning young people are free to come and go as they please) for S1-S3 pupils in the theatre at Kinlochleven High School.
~ Duror & Kentallen Youth Club: This youth club meets every other Tuesday after school in Kentallen from 4pm-6pm. There's no cost either!
~ Nether-Lochaber Youth Club: We meet every other Wednesday in the Nether-Lochaber Church of Scotland hall from 7pm-9pm. This youth club is for anyone in Onich, North Ballachulish, Inchree, and their friends. The hall is always nice and warm and has a great pool table, table tennis, arts & crafts, games, pizza, and sometimes DVD nights, the cost is just £1 to come along!
~ Ballachulish Drop-In: Every Friday night from 7.30pm-9.30pm, the Village Hall is open for young people to drop-in for a bit and hang out with their friends. We sometimes organise different games and activities like badminton, dodgeball, seasonal crafts, and more. There's also a brilliant Tuck Shop and pizza is included as well and we try to organise trips away too. The cost is just £1.
~ Listening Service: Every Thursday lunchtime in the Leven Centre, a Youth Worker is available to listen to anyone who needs to get things off their chest. Please note that if Thursday lunchtimes don't work, the Youth Worker is available *anytime* he's around to chat, just drop by the office (located near the Head Teacher's) and a time can be arranged.
~ SU Lunch Club: On Friday lunchtimes, Scripture Union club meets in the Meeting Room (near the pupil support office) and we have a blast with different games, yummy snacks, and it's a great place to ask questions and learn a bit more about the Christian faith. SU club is open to all!
