Kinloch Rannoch's Poppy Appeal draws to a close with a simple Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial which was well attended by locals and visitors alike. Wreaths were laid on behalf of Legion Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue, Perth Council and the Rannoch Community Trust. Thank you everyone for your support and encouragement on some very cold Saturdays.

Tune in to BBC One at 9pm for the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance as we come together to honour the service of past and present military personnel, and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

This year’s event will celebrate the remarkable men and women who fought in WW2 in 1944.

We will welcome veterans from campaigns in Normandy and Monte Cassino to Kohima and Imphal in East Asia into the Royal Albert Hall, and also hear stories from those that fought in more recent conflicts a decade since UK forces ended combat operations in Afghanistan.

Hosted by Adrian Lester, there will be inspiring displays of military music from RAF Music and the The Bands of HM Royal Marines, along with performances from Tom Jones, Jack Savoretti, Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha, Samantha Barks, Alexandra Burke and Jake Isaac .

Join us on Sunday the 10th of November for a short Act of Remembrance, at the same time as the rest of the nation. We gather at the Kinloch Rannoch War Memorial at about 1045hrs. After the 2 minute silence, a lone Piper will play. This is followed by a service in Rannoch Old Church and all are welcome.

The last Saturday of the Poppy Appeal saw the team setup once again in the village and proved very popular. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, lots of crosses were added to the Garden of Remembrance, I think we're on around 40+. Thanks also to Andy and Hutch for their help and support.

The final weekend of the Poppy Appeal has three events that you should be aware of. Please see the attached. If anyone wants a cross placing in the Garden of Remembrance, and cannot visit our stand on Saturday, please message me the details and we will place one for you.
