Last night was the Dudley CVS Awards, shining a spotlight on the incredible work being done across the borough.

We were truly grateful and hugely honoured to be nominated for the Caring Communities Award. Although we didn't take home the award, we were proud to stand alongside a wonderful collective of charities, community groups and volunteers, all deserving of recognition for the care, compassion and support they provide to others.

A huge congratulations to all the nominees and winners. Together, you are making a real difference and helping to create stronger, kinder and more connected communities across Dudley.

🌱 Well-being at the Allotment 🌱

Our amazing team recently took some well-being time out to visit our community allotment and see first-hand the hard work, dedication, and love that has gone into helping it flourish.

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, harvest fresh produce, and reflect on just how much the plot has developed since those early days when they helped prepare the ground for its very first raised bed.

Taking time out for yourself is so important, especially when you are caring for a loved one. Moments like these provide a chance to recharge, enjoy the outdoors, and appreciate the positive impact that being active and connected can have on our well-being.

We're incredibly proud of how the allotment has grown and grateful to everyone who has played a part in its journey, and it was lovely for our team to enjoy the morning together being nurtured through nature. 🌿

Cooler autumn mornings often mean more condensation on windows and other cold surfaces. But not every damp patch has the same cause.

Water droplets on windows can be a sign of condensation, while persistent damp patches, peeling wallpaper, musty smells or marks that get worse after rain could point to a different problem.

We had a lovely morning at our Crafts & Chat group today. There was plenty of crafting, laughter, quizzes and, of course, our usual cuppa and biscuits! ☕🍪

It was wonderful to welcome some new faces to the group, and we hope you enjoyed your morning with us.

A huge thank you to our members for their kind donations of chocolate treats, a jigsaw for our raffle, and lots of crafting bits and bobs to add to our collection. Your generosity is always appreciated.

As ever, our fantastic volunteer Chris was on hand to make sure everyone had a hot drink and felt welcome. Thank you, Chris, for all that you do.

We look forward to doing it all again next time! 😊🧶🎨

🌱 We enjoyed a refreshing visit to our community allotment this morning. Although it was drizzly, it was lovely and mild, making it perfect weather for a productive session outdoors.

Our small but mighty team got stuck in, pruning the blackcurrant bush, clearing debris from the beds, removing old sunflower stalks, harvesting squash, courgettes and beans, and making sure the birds were fed too. Our allotment just keeps on giving. 👌

Afterwards, we gathered in the Ekho's polytunnel for a hot cuppa and a biscuit. It was the perfect opportunity to connect, chat and share stories, reminding us that our allotment is about so much more than growing fruit and vegetables. It's about friendship, community and spending time together.

A lovely morning all round. 🌿🌱🍂☕

Our allotment is part of our Nurture through Nature outdoor activities.

We are so grateful to BCRS and everyone who supported this night. Louise and Chris gave an incredibly moving speech at the event sharing their own experience of stroke and the support they received from Dudley Stroke Association to support their recovery. Some of our team and trustees attended the night and it was a spectacular event raising awareness and showcasing the support groups we offer to the stroke community . 😊

September has been a busy and enjoyable month filled with community spirit, fresh air and plenty of achievements. From time spent tending plots and harvesting seasonal produce to bowls sessions, wellbeing walks and social gatherings, there has been something for everyone to enjoy.

We celebrated the changing season with harvests, shared gardening tips, enjoyed time outdoors and continued to build friendships across our community.

Our last bowls sessions brought fun, laughter and friendly competition, while walks and nature activities gave everyone the chance to appreciate the beauty of early autumn.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, supported and helped make all these group activities possible. Your time, encouragement and commitment make a real difference to the lives of those affected by stroke.

Together, we will continue reaching more people, providing vital support and demonstrating that life after stroke can be positive, meaningful and fulfilling.
