It was wonderful to see so many of our community at today’s Ekho Collective Earth Kind Holistic Offerings Everwild Festival at Hawbush Community Gardens.

The site has so much to offer — whether you’re after a bit of calm and tranquility or fancy getting stuck in with planting.

We picked rhubarb and spinach beet leaves, and planted tomatoes and courgette kindly gifted by our lovely neighbour Brad. Our lovely volunteer topped up the bird seed too. We have our first fruit on the new trees we planted too, it's very exciting.

The festival runs until 5pm today, so there’s still time to pop along.

We’re back at our community allotment this Wednesday 17th June, 10–12, as part of our Nurture through Nature outdoor activities.

If you’re part of our stroke community and haven’t visited before, please do pop in and say hello — there’s always a brew and a warm welcome waiting.

Today, Louise, Jennie and Nick joined hundreds of local primary school children for a fun-filled day focused on wellbeing, confidence and healthy habits at the MeFestival.

Led by Dudley Group of Hospital Trust and funded by Dudley Group NHS Charity, MeFestival brings the Five Ways to Wellbeing to life through interactive activities, workshops and experiences designed to help children:
🤝 Connect
🏃 Be Active
👀 Take Notice
📚 Keep Learning
💙 Give

By encouraging children to try something new, build friendships and develop important life skills, MeFestival helps equip young people with the tools they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

We taught the BEFAST message and the signs and symptoms of stroke, how to call an ambulance, the recovery position and then we did some interactive fun activities giving important lifestyle information 😀

Fun morning at our Crafts & Chat group today.

We mixed things up with pub games and a round of bingo, and our amazing volunteer Chris kept everyone smiling as the bingo caller.

We also have a quiet zone where people can connect, chat, or simply enjoy a calmer space. All shared over a warm welcome and a nice cuppa — just how we like it.

If you’ve not joined us before, come along and see what we’re about. 😊

🌟 May Highlights🌟

May was Stroke awareness month and the team were busy out and about engaging with the community sharing stroke awareness and prevention across the borough.

We supported 295 community members across 28 group sessions, and Louise visited 2 schools delivering valuable stroke prevention and awareness sessions to 3 classes.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, supported, volunteered, and helped make all of this possible. Your involvement truly makes a difference.

Here’s to continuing our work, reaching even more people, and showing that life goes on after a stroke — we can help. 🩵🩶🩷

The weather was absolutely glorious 🌞… until it wasn’t. 🌦

We still managed a brilliant morning at the allotment, harvesting onions and potatoes and making a start on tidying the wildflower bed. Then the heavens opened, so that job will wait for next week.

The mix of sunshine and showers really is the perfect tonic — and the plot is looking amazing.

Well done to our community today, sunshine or showers they join in every week, and make the magic happen at the allotment.

Our stroke community allotment is part of our Nurture through Nature outdoor activities.

During Carers Week, we want to shine a light on the incredible carers who support loved ones after a stroke.

You juggle appointments, emotions, routines, and recovery — often without a break, and often without recognition.

Thank you for the love and strength you give so generously.

At Dudley Stroke Association you matter. This is why we provide a wide range of support groups, including outdoor wellbeing activities, to ensure you have access to support to look after your wellbeing.

If you ever need support, signposting, or just someone to talk to, we’re here. 🩵🩶🩷
