Fire and iron shaped Stourbridge glass.
Local foundries forged the tools that made it possible- blowpipes, pontil rods, shears, jacks, moulds and furnace frames- all crafted in the heat of the Black Country. You can see the glass studio here onsite Tuesday-Saturday which was largely made in the West Midlands and run by . Support local heritage as its disappearing all across our country.

By 1984, the Stourbridge glass industry was fighting for survival. Only around half a dozen factories were still operating across Wordsley, Amblecote and Stourbridge- a fraction of the dozens that once lit the skyline. When tools burned out, furnace frames collapsed or ironwork finally gave up, nothing was wasted. Scrap metal from the glassworks was hauled away, melted down and fed straight back into the Black Country’s industrial bloodstream. Even in decline, the industry kept recycling itself.
