We are incredibly proud of our face-to-face befriending volunteer Julie Stevenson.

Julie was nominated for a local Time2Volunteer Award and, although she didn't win on the day, her nomination caught the attention of the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Hull and East Riding. As a result, Julie was personally invited to attend the Princess of Wales' "Together At Christmas" Carol Service at Westminster Abbey, which celebrates everyday heroes and volunteers.

Julie attended the service on Friday 5th December, and it will be broadcast on ITV and ITVX tomorrow, Christmas Eve.

Alongside working full time, Julie gives her time generously to support multiple members through befriending, offering companionship, kindness and connection. Her commitment and passion make a real difference.

Thank you, Julie, this recognition is so well deserved ♥️

Last week we celebrated Christmas together at our Pop In coffee morning in Hedon 🎄🎉🎁

The room was full of festive cheer, good conversation, plenty of smiles, exactly what Pop In is all about.

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers for making the morning such a success, and thanks to Waitrose & Partners and Today's Local (Uk) Limited for generously donating crisps and chocolate.

When do life’s moments become moments that matter?

Last week, MHA launched our Share a Memory appeal to raise funds for our Befriending Service.

Last year, our amazing befrienders made over 9,000 calls to older people, bringing conversation, laughter and comfort to those who might otherwise face long days alone. This appeal will help us keep those vital connections alive and reach even more people.

Do you or someone you know fancy a chat and a cup of tea? ☕

Here at The Clothes Collection Hub we're having our first Cuppa Club next week! Monday 3rd Feb, 10:30am-12:00pm.

We'd love for anyone and everyone to come along for a bit of company, a cup of tea and a biscuit.

There's no expectations or strings attached, (you don't need to bring any clothes!) We know warm, community drop-in spaces are becoming harder to find so we're more than happy to open our doors to some friendly faces. 😄
