Lee, volunteer at Emmaus Hull & East Riding shares what his role means to him💚

"I had a previous volunteer opportunity who highlighted that Emmaus was looking for volunteers. I decided to give it a weeks trial to see how it went, and this was in 2021 so.. went great!

My days can be very varied. I help build and fix furniture, I am a qualified PAT tester so I spend majority of my day testing and pricing electricals for the shop floor. Due to how busy we are - if needed, I tend to jump on the van an help do the collections and deliveries.

I enjoy how different my days can be, everyday I volunteer is so different to the previous one. Meeting different customers and companions an getting to know them personally, I love seeing how companions grow from when they first arrive to when they leave."
