Skidby Parish Council has, today, submitted its response to the Environmental Scoping document for Clean Air Solar. This document relates to the issues the developer needs to consider when preparing their application. there will be further opportunities to comment as the project develops.

A164 NIGHT CLOSURES

The A164 will be closed between Skidby Roundabout and Jock’s Lodge Roundabout from 8 pm to 5 am on the dates below, to enable final road surfacing and road marking works to be carried out.

During these activities, a diversion will be in place.

Access will be maintained for residents during the closure periods.

All dates are subject to change

Affected dates and times:

• Thursday 2 – Friday 3 July 2026 from 8 pm to 5 am
• Monday 6 – Tuesday 7 July 2026 from 8 pm to 5 am

Hull and East Yorkshire Local Nature Partnership (HEY LNP) has asked us to share some information which may be of interest to residents involved in farming or land management.

The Sustainable Farming Incentive 2026 (SFI26) is a UK Government scheme designed to support farmers in managing their land in a more sustainable way. It offers financial incentives for a range of environmentally beneficial practices, including improving soil health, protecting water quality, and contributing to nature recovery.

The scheme provides a choice of actions, allowing farmers to select options that best suit their land and business while supporting both environmental outcomes and food production.
Applications for SFI26 will open in two phases:

Window 1: June 2026
Window 2: September 2026

To be eligible, applicants must have at least 3 hectares of agricultural land.

To support farmers thinking of applying for the Sustainable Farming Incentive, the HEY LNP have produced a resource aligning the Priorities and Measures (actions) of the Hull and East Yorkshire Local Nature Recovery Strategy (HEY LNRS) with SFI26 actions which could contribute to their delivery.

CLEAN AIR SOLAR FARM - Meeting with Anne Handley, ERYC - MEETING DATE CORRECTION

Last night David Hume from the Skidby, Little Weighton, Bentley, Walkington Action Group attended a well attended public meeting in Skkidby Village Hall and encouraged anyone who has concerns about the Clean Air Solar proposals to attend the public information Days next week. He also referred to a meeting with Anne Handley, Leader of East Riding Council. This is meeting is on FRIDAY 26 JUNE (not Thursday as was stated at the meeting) 3pm-4pm in the Ferguson Fawcett in Walkington and is an opportunity for you to make sure ERYC is aware of the residents' views on this issue.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - A164 Closures

To enable the contractor to undertake surfacing works, the A164 will be fully closed overnight in both directions from Skidby roundabout to the A1079 Roundabout on the following dates:

• Monday 8 June to Friday 12 June (5 nights in total), between the hours of 8:00pm to 5:00am each night.

Please note there will be no access from Dunflat Road onto the A164 during the closures.
Signed diversion routes will be in place and diversion drawings are available on the project website.

The Environment Agency would like to invite people in communities to take part in a short survey.

This research will help the Environment Agency understand what information people find most useful when checking their possible future flood risk or thinking about how to prepare for flooding.
The survey is simple and should only take a few minutes to complete. You will first be asked a small number of questions about your experience and views. You will then be invited to choose up to five items from a list of information and actions that would matter most to you in this situation.

There are no right or wrong answers. We are interested in your honest views and first impressions. Your responses will help us understand which information and actions are most important to communities, and what we should prioritise in future design and research.
