World Menopause Day 🧡 18th October

At Humbercare, we're committed to creating a supportive and inclusive workplace where colleagues feel understood, valued and supported throughout the menopause.

Behind the scenes, we've been working with towards our Menopause Friendly Accreditation, while also setting up internal support sessions to help our teams access information, share experiences and feel more confident talking about menopause.

As we mark World Menopause Day, we're proud to be taking steps towards building greater awareness, encouraging open conversations and ensuring our colleagues know where to turn for support.

Because no one should feel they have to navigate the menopause alone 🧡

🎉We're delighted to share that Humbercare has been shortlisted for The Award for Excellence in Building Purpose-Driven Impact (up to 249 employees) at the Awards 2026!

This comes shortly after we achieved re-accreditation with Investors in People for a further three years, recognising our ongoing commitment to creating a positive workplace where our people can thrive.

At Humbercare, our people are at the heart of everything we do. Every day, our colleagues work hard to support people, promote independence and make a positive difference in our communities.

Being shortlisted for this award is another fantastic milestone and a proud moment for our whole team. A huge thank you to everyone who contributes to making Humbercare what it is!

World Homeless Day | 10th October 🧡

Homelessness isn't always visible. It can mean sleeping rough, sofa surfing, living in temporary accommodation or facing the uncertainty of not having a safe place to call home.

At Humbercare, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to feel safe, supported and able to build a more independent future.

Through our housing-related support services, we work alongside people to help them develop skills, build confidence and take positive steps towards independence.

This World Homeless Day, let's challenge assumptions about homelessness and remember the person behind every situation.

🧡 The Sound of Your Own Voice – Exhibition Update

We’re delighted to share that over half of the artwork has now sold!

The exhibition showcases artwork created by residents of Westbourne House as part of a project with artist and project lead

All artwork sales support the Social Inclusion Fund at Westbourne House, helping provide opportunities, experiences and support for residents.

There’s still time to visit before the exhibition closes on Sunday 11th October.

On Friday, we took part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning 💚🧡

It was lovely to come together, share some treats and enjoy a cuppa, while raising money for an amazing cause.

We’re incredibly proud to see the amazing work of our residents at Westbourne House featured by BBC Humberside!

The Westbourne Arts Project has given residents the opportunity to get creative, try something new and express themselves through art — with some truly inspiring results.

One resident summed up the impact of the project perfectly: “It’s saved my life.”

A huge well done to everyone who took part and to all those who helped make the project happen 🧡

Great to see Swan House’s allotment project featured by Grimsby Live!

The project is a lovely example of how getting involved in the community can help residents build confidence, develop independence and enjoy social inclusion.

From learning new skills and growing their own food to spending time outdoors and connecting with others, the allotment is creating opportunities for residents to feel involved, valued and part of their local community.

It’s fantastic to see how a shared project like this can bring people together, support wellbeing and make a positive difference to everyday life.
