Thesaurus Lodge 3891 is a traditional Freemasons Lodge based in Hull, in the Masonic Province of Yorkshire, North and East Ridings. We have a very diverse age range in our membership; our youngest members in their twenties and our older experienced members representing previous decades. We come from different w
alks of life but are all like-minded men with a faith in a Supreme Being. We meet for our formal Craft night ten times a year (no meeting in July & August) at 6.30pm, on the evening of the second Thursday of every month at the Dagger Lane Masonic Hall in the centre of Hull HU1 LU. We also get together informally at 7pm, on the first Friday evening of every month for our Lodge of instruction (LOI). We normally meet at a local hostelry for a meal and social catch up, then go on to the Dagger Lane Masonic Hall to learn more about the mysteries of freemasonry, engage in masonic discussions and light-hearted ceremony rehearsals. All members are encouraged to attend these meetings whenever possible to learn more about Freemasonry in general and practise ritual in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Thesaurus Lodge was founded in October 1918 by the Grand Lodge of England, with our Consecration ceremony held at the Hull Guildhall in March 1919. The first meeting of the lodge was held at Park Street Masonic Hall, Hull in April 1919. Except for a brief spell in 1941 (due to the premises being severely damaged by bombing during the Second World War), Thesaurus Lodge continued to be held there every second Thursday of every month until 2012, where we moved to our current home in Dagger Lane. We embrace the principles of Freemasonry, Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth, which are as relevant today as they were over 300 years ago. We support Integrity, Friendship, Charity and Respect. We have adapted to the changing world to ensure Thesaurus Lodge remains vibrant and sustainable so that all its members, young and old, can continue to enjoy the secrets and privileges of Freemasonry. In addition, Thesaurus Lodge enjoys a great social calendar, with events such as our Ladies Evening in February, our Christmas Lodge and other social nights throughout the year. Families and friends are all welcome: these occasions are always good fun and well attended. During the Covid crisis these events have not taken place, but we are looking forward to reintroducing them when circumstances permit. If you are interested in joining our Lodge, please contact us through the link below and we will organise a meeting. The annual subscription fee for the Thesaurus Lodge is £150.00 which can be paid by installments. As a member, you will also be entitled to visit other Lodges provided they are recognised by the United Grand Lodge of England.
