Do you rely on Patient Transport to get to hospital appointments?🚑

Did you know …
In April this year, the criteria for accessing non emergency patient transport changed.

This means that unless it is deemed as unsafe or impossible to attend an appointment without help from the Patient Transport service, then you are no longer eligible to access the service.

The changes align with NHS England’s Urgent and Emergency Care Plan 2025/26, which aims to reduce pressure on ambulances and hospitals by ensuring transport is reserved for those with genuine medical need.

Check your eligibility!

Ask yourself:
• Do you have a medical condition that makes it unsafe or impossible to travel by car, taxi, bus, or with help from family/friends?

• Do you need specialist transport support (e.g., oxygen, stretcher, trained staff monitoring)?

• Do you have severe mobility issues (e.g., wheelchair user with no accessible alternative)?

• Do you require a carer or es**rt during travel that cannot otherwise be provided?

If you answer YES to any of the above questions, you may qualify for non emergency patient transport.

For bookings and cancellations, please call Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) on 03306784000

Have you been affected by the changes?

This week, we’re shining a spotlight on the power and purpose of advocacy. Throughout the week, we’ll be hearing from some of our amazing advocates about what advocacy means to them and tomorrow, we’re hosting two special advocacy webinars where you can learn more and ask your burning questions.

At Cloverleaf, we’re proud to have a dedicated team of over 100 highly trained advocates supporting people across the North of England. Your mental health matters - not just today, but every day.

The theme for this year’s World Mental Health Day is “Access to services – mental health in catastrophes and emergencies”.

As the contract holder for four Healthwatch teams, we know the importance of being able to access services whenever needed, and the impact changes to provision can have.

Healthwatch operates all year round, listening to your experiences with local health and social care services, making sure your voice is heard by those providing and commissioning them, and working to identify changes to improve the quality of care you receive.

If you’ve struggled to access support, or want to share what’s working well, Healthwatch needs to hear from you, as talking about your experiences will help to make services better for everyone.
