Notice - Kingswood Grass Cutting and Verges

We have had lots of residents get in-touch regarding some of the grass cutting on Kingswood, particularly around the Village Green.

We believe there has been some confusion around whose responsibility it is to cut it. This often happens when different parts of Kingswood are adopted by the Council at different times. It’s not acceptable.

We have chased for this to be cut as soon as possible as we agree it looks terrible! As soon as we have timescales we will update and make sure this doesn’t happen again with future adoptions.

Ted and Charles.

We have joined our neighbourhood police team and local Kingswood council staff this week, going door to door giving crime advice, taking your feedback on local issues and handing out free crime prevention goody bags with door alarms, car key pouches and much more,

We are initially focussing our door knocking on areas with most crime reports. If we haven’t spoken to you yet we will be continuing to do this over the Summer to speak to as many people as possible.

Best wishes
Ted and Charles

KINGSWOOD ROAD WORKS - UPDATE

We know there was a lot of traffic congestion in Kingswood yesterday. We have asked for an urgent update / explanation from the council.

There were a couple of unexpected issues yesterday. The temporary traffic lights failed on the junction of Kesteven Way and Venn Road. Which caused a lot of issues. These works are due to be completed at 7pm today.

An inspector is on site today checking traffic arrangements are being followed.

In addition, a section of road was closed yesterday by housing developers on the junction of Richmond, Grosvenor and Runnymede Lane. This road is unadopted by the council so we had no say in its closure. We have been told this work will end very soon.

We are hopeful that the road congestion will be much improved with these additional works coming to an end - and that this explanation is helpful.

Please continue to give feedback with your experiences.

Best wishes,
Ted and Charles

YES YES YES SUCCESS 🙌🏽 WE DID IT 🧡

The council and CJ Reynolds have listened to us and have agreed to open the track behind Home Bargins to one way traffic excluding HGVs.

Understandably they need to order signs and arrange a light system for crossing school children and its a proper TRO so it will come into effect on Tuesday late afternoon.

NOT IN PLACE TILL NEXT TUESDAY LATE AFTERNOON !!!!

This is a huge win for us locally, it will save months of traffic jams so please be respectful to the road workers and remember, its still a bus lane untill the new signs go up Tuesday, so its illegal to drive down. We recommend waiting for a few days.

Thank you so much to every one of you who mailed called and shouted, it worked and as a community we came together 🧡

All 3 Lib Dems on Kingswood / Northcar and our portfolio Mark fought for this 🧡🧡

Have a great weekend

RICHMOND LANE PEDESTRIAN CROSSING

We’re delighted to update that the pedestrian crossing on Richmond Lane (onto School Lane) is due to be installed with work beginning next week.

It will take roughly 2 weeks and a road closure with a signed diversion will be in effect. More details are in this article.

We know this has been a community priority for a number of years and we are very happy that it has finally been realised.

Best wishes -
Charles and Ted

PARK IMPROVEMENT UPDATES 🛝

We are in the middle of a a busy few weeks for park improvements in Kingswood.

Works to improve the drainage on this playground and give it a good tidy up are due to commence on 23 February (weather dependant) and will complete on 13 March. The playground will be fenced off during this period.

Works are currently in progress to tidy this park up and to install new wooden sleeper edging. It will be closed off while works take place.

Another chance to share the lovely new ground markings we have installed on the park to brighten it up with new ways to play. Please see the photos on this post and pay the park a visit.

Delighted that the play park on School Lane next to Kingswood Parks Primary will receive significant improvement works. This will include new equipment and improved drainage to keep it useable all year round. This is just one of many improvements due to Kingswood play parks in the coming months.

Hull City Council has announced a major upgrade for Kingswood Park, on School Lane, to tackle long-standing flooding issues and enhance play facilities for local families.  Located adjacent to Kingswood Parks Primary School, the park...
