Join us for a morning gathering at Lovebrook to celebrate the autumn equinox with yoga, sauna and an escape into nature.

The Wheel of the Year is an ancient Celtic calendar of eight festivals that celebrate our connection with nature, signalling a shift in the season, weather, and the natural world around us. Mabon (autumn equinox) is named after the Celtic God Mabon- Son of the Earth Goddess. Night and day are equal length and in perfect equilibrium. This midpoint between the light and dark halves of the year is the perfect time to reflect and re-balance as we let go of summer excess like the trees releasing their golden leaves.

Session itinerary:

-Arrive to fresh coffee, herbal tea, delicious pastries and fruit
-1.5hrs of meditation, breath work, yoga flow and deep rest with Akin β€’ Charlie Griffin
- Hosted 1.5hr wood-fired sauna session with open air shower and cold plunge
-Natural face mask
-Body salt scrub
- Optional walk to the standing stone to finish the session (self guided)

Lammas celebration at Lovebrook!

Thanks to all the beautiful souls that gathered with us today to celebrate Lammas. The first harvest, the grain harvest, a time of gratitude for the abundance we have received, and a time of preparation and preservation as we think about the darker months to come.
But for now, we linger a while longer in the basking sun, the golden fields and the sense of community we are creating at Lovebrook. πŸ™πŸ’–πŸ˜πŸŒ½

And special thanks to Caroline Mellor for her beautiful Lammas blessing we shared at the standing stone.

See you all for the next turn of the seasonal wheel. X###x

In the spirit of showing the downs as well as the ups, here are some of our not-so-success stories on the market garden this season πŸ€” It’s been so challenging with the mega high temperatures & lack of rain, first up is bitter cucumbers, anyone else been suffering this? Not just slightly bitter, sooooo bitter, immediately have to spit out bitter 😳 Thankfully now the weather is cooler we seem to have turned a corner & finally have some delicious sweet tasting cucs, but sadly an awful lot did end up on the compost heap πŸ˜” Next up pesky pests, flea beetle, aphids, mainly on brassicas, due to heat the plants are struggling & are more likely to be attacked. We need some rain! πŸ™πŸ»πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ€žπŸ» And our lettuce have also been struggling, not a fan of the heat & also really need a lot of water to keep them happy. So lots of bolting lettuce but they fed the chickens so at least they were happy πŸ“ Mega solidarity with all gardeners & growers having a tough season, it’s not easy, despite insta telling you otherwise πŸ˜‰
