On this day 81 years ago Victory in Japan day was commemorated, effectively ending the Second World War.

Europe had celebrated months earlier, while British, Commonwealth and Allied Forces in the Far East continued the fight, suffering terrible losses. After almost six years of the most destructive war in history, peace could at last be celebrated, and preparations made to return home, with Allied prisoners of war liberated and repatriated after their appalling experiences.

Join us in remembering the service and sacrifice of all involved in the Far East, without whom the freedoms we enjoy today would not have been possible.

We will remember them.

KRBL Branch – Committee Meeting Dates

Our Branch Committee meetings are open to members and are held at 7:30pm on the following dates:

⭐ Annual General Meeting (AGM)
📅 Tuesday 24th November 2026 – 7:30pm

Our committee is responsible for helping to run the branch, supporting the Poppy Appeal, organising fundraising and social events, managing branch activities, and ensuring we continue to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for our members and the local community.

We’re always looking for enthusiastic people to join the committee. Whether you can spare a little time or would like to become more involved, we’d love to hear from you. Fresh ideas and new faces are always welcome, and it’s a fantastic way to support the Royal British Legion and make a real difference in our community.
