Hey mamas, how beautiful you are. You’ve grown a human and brought them into the world - your body is incredible.

Now comes the bit nothing prepares you for. The blur of feeds and nappy changes. And somewhere in there, the question: who am I now?

This class is baby massage for them, gentle movement and breathwork for you. Time to reconnect with yourself and your baby, away from all the noise.

I’m a mum of two, and I created this because I needed exactly this space. A place to be held and to hold one another. A place you’ll leave grounded and a little bit more like yourself.

So join us for the next 5-week course of Mama & Baby classes - starting Friday 12th Sept from 1:15pm to 2:30pm in in Kingsbridge, South Devon. Get in touch - places are limited to keep classes small. I’d love to have you there.

WE'VE DONE IT!! We've smashed our Crowdfunder target with a couple of hours to spare! 🎉

£5,220 through crowdfunder and an additional £100+ to us direct ❤️

This is so incredible and it's down to all you lovely people who have donated to and shared our crowdfunder over the last few weeks.

There are no words big enough to describe how thankful and grateful we are to every single person and business who has supported us with this, whether that be through a monetary donation, a kind comment or words of encouragement. We cannot thank you enough for helping us raise the cash that will make such a huge difference to us for getting MotherBorn on Fore Street up and running.

As you all know, we don't receive any direct regular funding from local government to run our services, so we're really not joking when we say that every single £ really REALLY helps!

We'd also like to acknowledge in particular those of you who made donations despite having very little to give - we appreciate you so much 💕

We've been completely blown away by the support we've been shown from people known to us as well as so many we've never met and I think it goes to show how much people value the work we do locally and how needed it is - do you agree?

✨️ COMING SOON TO FORE STREET ✨️

A special place on Kingsbridge high street designed with the comfort and requirements of parents and babies in mind 🩷

We've all been there...
... dealing with a grizzly, hungry baby, but not wanting to take them into a café for fear of disturbing other people's lunch...
... needing to grab some shopping, but a poonami whilst in the baby carrier needs immediate attention...
... experiencing challenges with breastfeeding and/or bottlefeeding and needing some help with it all...
... just wanting to get the heck out of the house for a change of scenery and some adult convo (plus a hot cuppa of course!).

We get it!

Those few scenarios are among the many reasons why we're taking the (slightly terrifying) leap of taking on our own premises on Fore Street... so we can be there for local parents in all the little moments when a comfy, relaxed, extra-child friendly place to visit is needed.

But ours will ALSO have a variety of useful resources and baby equipment to hire, good quality pre-loved maternity & baby/toddler clothing for sale, a variety of mum/baby gifts and goodies available to browse... along with baby & toddler groups and classes galore, peer support groups & 1:1 support from specialist practitioners too 🙌🏻

Your one-stop-shop for all things pregnancy, postpartum & parenthood 💕

We're crowdfunding to help us get all this off the ground and we need your help!

We are so SO grateful! Thank you so much Wayne!

It means so much more to us than I think anyone realises when our fellow local businesses and members of our community show us any kind of support.... whether that be monetary or otherwise (but obvs cold hard cash helps massively!).

It is also so lovely for the work we do to be recognised when so much of hard graft in the background goes pretty much unseen. And when the importance of supporting families in the early days for the benefit of our society's future is appreciated ❤️

✨ LOCAL MAKERS & SMALL BUSINESSES WANTED ✨

There's something new coming to Fore Street in Kingsbridge...

❤️ MotherBorn is getting a home of its own ❤️

But we're not starting from scratch...
.. for the past couple of years we've been supporting local families through breastfeeding and bottlefeeding support, groups, classes, babywearing, equipment hire, and plenty of cups of tea & coffee. Our new space will bring all of that together under one roof that we can call our own 🥹

And alongside everything else we're doing, we're creating a small, carefully curated retail space filled with beautiful, useful things.

We're looking for local makers and small independent brands whose products would feel at home in MotherBorn and, more importantly, be useful and relevant to the families who already come through our doors.

We're particularly interested in:

💕 Things for new mums and postpartum
🤱 Breastfeeding & bottlefeeding related products
🧸 Baby & toddler toys
🧶 Handmade baby & children's clothing
🤍 Babywearing accessories
🎁 New baby & new parent gifts
🌿 Sustainable & reusable products
🧵 Beautiful handmade or locally made/designed textiles
✨ Keepsakes & things with a bit of meaning

We're not looking to become a general gift shop... ooohhh no. We want our retail space to feel like an extension of MotherBorn: thoughtful, useful and relevant to pregnancy, babies, feeding and motherhood.

We're therefore super keen to hear from makers and small businesses in Kingsbridge, the South Hams and across Devon... especially those run by parents supporting their family with their small biz.

We're offering dedicated display space on a simple fixed-fee basis, with no commission on your sales. We'll handle the selling while your products are in the space.

✨️ WE'RE RAISING THE FUTURE. WHO IS RAISING US? ✨️

We often hear talk about the future.

The kind of society we all want to live in.

The communities we want to build.

The care and support we hope will be there when we need it.

But we often forget that the future is being shaped now, in homes all around us... including our own... by parents who are doing their absolute best whilst navigating huge change, exhaustion, uncertainty and a system that often leaves them feeling unseen.

Children don't grow in isolation.

They grow in families. And families need support.

Not because we parents aren't capable, but because nobody was ever meant to do this completely alone.

When we invest in parents, we invest in children. The nurses, teacher and tax payers of the future.

When we support families, we strengthen our whole community 💕
