Pipal Tree Pipal Tree is a UK charity that is building resilient communities and restoring biodiversity in Nepal.

We currently work through three partner organisations in Nepal - the NGOs Mithila Wildlife Trust and Our Sansar in Province 2 and the social enterprise Lily's Leaves in Kathmandu. We are open to enquiries from other non-profit organisations (both nationally in Nepal and internationally) who may wish to partner with us. However, we only work with those who can share our passion, commitment and financial transparency.

Our Nepal flood disaster appeal through The Big Give has just taken a major step forward. See screenshot below.

There is a downside to the success and that is that 'only' £7,247 remains of the original £44,000 that we had available to match further online gifts. So, without additional new pledges, we risk losing momentum in an appeal that, with interest continuing at this current level, could take us to a much higher target.

And that is where we need to be if we are to make a real impact on the lives of these child survivors.

In my Facebook post this time last evening, I was wondering whether our Big Give emergency appeal for Nepal would reach £40,000 by the end of the day. Now look at it!

You can still donate through the link below - and every gift will automatically be doubled. But we now have an opportunity to go much further.

What we urgently need are additional matching pledges that will allow us to extend the appeal beyond its initial £88,000 target. Given the extraordinary response from online donors, we are confident that any further pledge funding that we secure can be fully utilised.

The latest figure received from Dev is that there are currently 473 displaced children awaiting reunification with parents and families. The challenge is really daunting. But we're up to it.
