TG Jones (formerly WHSmith) on South Street is due to close on Saturday 9th January 2027, with the Post Office inside closing at the same time.

The Post Office says it is actively looking for a replacement location, and several interested retailers have already come forward. However, no new premises have yet been confirmed, and finding a replacement could take around six months.

Unless a new location is secured, St Andrews could be left without a full-service Post Office in the town centre.

For a town with thousands of residents, university students and visitors, this would be a significant loss.

Hopefully, a new home can be found on South Street or Market Street before the current branch closes.
