This weekend at Cambo Gardens…

We’re proud to be part of the Fife Doors Open Festival, and our resident historian, Niall Hutchison, will be sharing the stories of Cambo with guided tours throughout the weekend. Booking via our website is essential to avoid disappointment.

Our gardeners have been busy in the Kitchen Garden, harvesting some fabulous vegetables and in the Walled Garden harvesting blooms and creating the most wonderful-smelling dried flower posies and bouquets. There’s plenty to see, smell and enjoy as we head into early autumn.

We’ll also be taking donations for bags of our incredible Cambo bio-active compost. Made here at Cambo from carefully composted garden and kitchen waste, it’s packed with goodness and is a wonderful way to give your own crops and plants the best possible start. Bring your car down to the visitors centre to stock up.

And if wandering through the gardens leaves you inspired to get planting, our Cambo Plant Sale continues this weekend, with lots of lovely stock for you to browse and take home.

The Gardens, Shop and Café are all open from 10am–5pm this weekend.

We can’t wait to welcome you to Cambo.

Learn the craft 🧱🌿

Over two practical days, learn the traditional skills and techniques needed to repoint and care for historic masonry, from mixing lime mortar and preparing joints to placing, finishing and protecting the mortar.

Perfect for anyone responsible for a traditional building, renovation or conservation project, or simply keen to develop their practical skills.

🌿🦋 Slow down, look closer, and discover the hidden world of butterflies at Cambo on our FREE Butterfly Walk this Saturday!

Join Fife butterfly counters, Elspeth and Gillian, for a gentle guided walk through the gardens as they share their knowledge of the beautiful species that call Cambo home. Along the way, you’ll learn how to spot different butterflies and discover why Cambo’s habitats are so important for these fascinating insects.

The walk will last approximately 60 minutes. If the weather isn’t on our side, the outdoor walk may be shortened, with a longer indoor talk instead.

Whether you’re a keen wildlife enthusiast or simply looking for a peaceful afternoon in nature, it’s a wonderful opportunity to experience the gardens from a new perspective.

📢 Café Update

Cambo Gardens Café is closed today for a private event.

Our Tackroom Café is open as usual from 10am–4pm, so pop by for coffee, cake, or lunch. ☕🍰

The main café will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday 21st, from 10am.

Help us take the pulse of our local butterfly populations by spending just 15 minutes watching and recording the butterflies you see.

📅 The Big Butterfly Count runs from 17th July – 9th August.

Every butterfly spotted helps scientists understand how these beautiful insects are doing and supports important conservation work.
