The Squirrels found out about Harvest time, we talked about the food that grows in the fields close to where we live. We found out about different fruits and vegetables, and how the farmers harvest the food to take some to the shops for us to buy.

We saw birds eating the seeds in some of the pictures and decided that a scarecrow would help the farmers frighten the birds away!

💐Happy Silver Sunday and Grandparents Day everyone! 💐

After receiving and reading copies of ‘The Grumpy Old Stone’ story thanks to Twinkl and The Scouts, the Squirrels and Beavers enjoyed using their imaginations to decorate pebbles to gift to our friends at Amberley Hall Care Home for their garden 🏡

Silver Sunday is a national day where communities come together by hosting fun activities for older people. A day to celebrate older people, and an opportunity to encourage good relations between young and older people 😊

What an absolutely wonderful group of people to spend our Cubs 110 Birthday Camp with!

The Cubs done archery, air r***e shooting, hiking, shelter building, dancing and party games. They put up their own tents and spent the night under canvas.

They should all be very proud of themselves 😊

We had a surprise visit from the North West Norfolk District Lead volunteer at Squirrels this week. Juniper was presented with ‘The Chief Scout’s Commendation for Good Service’ and Cherry was presented with ‘The Award for Merit’! 🎉

Congratulations, and thank you for everything that you do to support our young people and families at the 12th, and our wider Scouting family⚜️

A fabulous sleepover with the Beavers!

We had a great time at High Lodge, Thetford Forest - Forestry England with other members of North West Norfolk District Beavers; completed the musical trail and enjoyed some of the play areas before our picnic lunch. Refilled our bottles and set off to complete the Gruffalo orienteering trail and had lots of fun on the pyramid slide, carousel and adventure play area before making our way back to the coach.

On returning we waved all the other groups off and hiked back to our HQ. A welcome ‘foot spa’ and tea before making our way to the ‘Drive in’ for a showing of Sing!

A first sleepover for many of the children - congratulations and well done to everyone, you were amazing!

Another heart warming evening spent at Amberley Hall Care Home with our Squirrels. The children literally ran in the front door and were so pleased to see their special friends.

We were lucky to be invited to paint some wishing stones with the residents, and treated to afternoon tea with ice lollies too!

Thank you so much Sara, Mari, Don, Isabella, Joan, Bill, Pam, Myra and everyone else for another lovely welcome. How lovely to see some of the residents joining in with our ‘Campfire’s Burning’ goodbye song too.

We look forward to seeing you all again soon😊⚜️

Another lovely evening spent visiting our friends at Amberley Hall Care Home 😊

The Squirrels had a fabulous day at Pensthorpe 🦆

We explored the nature reserve, fed the ducks and geese and marvelled at the biosonification garden. A pond dipping session was enjoyed by everyone. The Squirrels found Water Boatmen, Leeches, snails and lots more!

We searched for the three day old Flamingo chicks and all jumped when the Cranes started to make their very loud ‘trumpeting’ sound!

The children and grown-ups enjoyed climbing, sliding, splashing, swinging, den building and making new friends in the amazing outdoor play area. If all that was not enough, we finished off our day with a visit to Hootz House, the indoor play area, with its amazing and very fast slide!
