The Squirrels had a fabulous day at Pensthorpe 🦆

We explored the nature reserve, fed the ducks and geese and marvelled at the biosonification garden. A pond dipping session was enjoyed by everyone. The Squirrels found Water Boatmen, Leeches, snails and lots more!

We searched for the three day old Flamingo chicks and all jumped when the Cranes started to make their very loud ‘trumpeting’ sound!

The children and grown-ups enjoyed climbing, sliding, splashing, swinging, den building and making new friends in the amazing outdoor play area. If all that was not enough, we finished off our day with a visit to Hootz House, the indoor play area, with its amazing and very fast slide!

Alive Downham Leisure: Wednesday 17 June, 4-4:30pm and 4:30-5pm.
Alive St James Pool: Thursday 18 June, 6:30-7pm and 7-7:30pm.

Help your child build essential life-saving skills in a safe, fun environment, during these sessions, children will learn vital skills can make a real difference and boost your child’s confidence in and around water.

With thanks to Paul from King's Lynn Town Guides the Beaver Scouts enjoyed a fact filled evening exploring our historic King’s Lynn, or as the Beavers discovered, the former Bishop’s Lynn!

We started our walk near to St Margaret’s Church, before continuing and walking along the River Great Ouse. Here the Beavers discovered dragons, fish, seaweed and even a mermaids bra!

A detour into the courtyard of Thoresby College felt like walking into a ‘secret garden’ for the children, with an abundance of blossom on the ground. Another ‘secret’ passageway with a story to tell, led us back along the quay. We found out about the Half Fathoms sculpture, the height of the column representing the distance between high and low tides, before reaching the statue of Captain George Vancouver and the Custom House.

We enjoyed reading ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ story together at Squirrels this evening and welcomed our very own tiny caterpillars to Squirrels too! 🐛

We are going to look after our caterpillars and hope to release 5 butterflies to celebrate our Squirrels 5th Birthday year 🦋

We tasted all the ‘healthy’ foods that the caterpillar enjoyed eating in the story and discovered that most of us liked strawberries the best! 🍓

A new club starting at our HQ, Beulah Street this week!

Calling all young Pokémon Trainers in King’s Lynn!

A brand‑new Pokémon Trading Club is starting up — and everyone aged 6–18 is welcome to join the fun!

I started this club as a mum of two boys who became huge Pokémon fans. We wanted a friendly place where children could play, learn, and share their love of the Pokémon Trading Card Game with others. Now we’re opening that space to the whole community!
At our club, trainers can:

✨ Trade cards
✨ Play fun matches
✨ Learn new strategies
✨ Build better decks
✨ Show off favourite Pokémon
✨ Make new friends

Whether your child is just starting out or already knows the game inside out, they’ll find something exciting to enjoy. It’s all about having fun, learning together, and celebrating the world of Pokémon in a safe, welcoming environment.

Parents and guardians are required to stay during the session, so everyone can enjoy the club in a relaxed and supportive space.
We can’t wait to welcome lots of new trainers from King’s Lynn and the surrounding areas!

A weekend of fun, friendship and challenges for 51 members of the 12th King’s Lynn Scout Group at PGL Caythorpe Court was enjoyed by all! 🙂

Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Leaders enjoyed; orienteering, climbing, abseiling, zip wire, survival skills, giant swing, buggy building, problem solving, toasting marshmallows and singing around the campfire.

We are already looking forward to our next adventure ⚜️

We had a fabulous time along with other Squirrel Dreys from North West Norfolk celebrating St George’s Day with a picnic in the King’s garden at Sandringham Estate! 👑

A wonderful time was had by all in the beautiful sunshine. Everyone renewed their Squirrel Scout promise and had lots of fun exploring the gardens, playing games and meeting new Squirrel friends 🐿️
