⚠️🌊 INFLATABLES 🌊⚠️

We know inflatables are loads of fun when you're relaxing in the sun... ☀️🏖

❗️BUT THEY ARE NOT MADE TO BE USED ON THE SEA 🚫

IN SWIMMING POOLS AND PADDLING POOLS THEY ARE GREAT

AT THE COAST THEY CAN BE VERY VERY DANGEROUS ⚠️

🪶 Inflatables are light and full of air so they can very easily and quickly be swept far away from the beach by the tide and even just a mild offshore wind.

Sea conditions and the wind can change in the blink of an eye. A blink of an eye is as long as it takes for fun situation to become potentially life-threatening.

🌊 If you are swept out to sea STAY ON the inflatable and shout and wave for help. It is much easier for rescue teams to spot you on an inflatable than in the water.

🙏 PLEASE TALK TO YOUR CHILDREN ABOUT THE DANGERS & WHAT TO DO IN AN EMERGENCY.

🌟 REDUCE THE RISKS:

• Leave inflatables at home.
• Choose a lifeguarded beach.
• NEVER use inflatables in the sea.
• Make sure children are supervised.
• If you get swept out to sea, remain calm and shout for help.
• If you see an inflatable that’s been blown out to sea, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

🆘️ If you see someone in trouble at sea or on the coast, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

We’re in the summer hols, the summer season is upon us… us in water safety land aren’t prudes…. We just want everyone to enjoy our beautiful coastlines…. Just know how….

Buckets and spades make for a fun day at the beach, but staying safe is just as important🏖️

Digging in the sand can be dangerous as deep holes or tunnels can collapse suddenly, causing serious injury or suffocation.

To stay safe, follow these tips:

• Don’t dig tunnels
• Don’t dig holes deeper than waist height
• Fill in holes before you leave to prevent injury to others
• Avoid digging near the water’s edge as incoming tides can quickly fill and destabilise holes

In an emergency at the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

🌊There is a high risk of tidal cut off this weekend.🌊🌊

With the weather forecast looks great we're expecting lots of people to flock to the beaches.

There is a high risk of tidal cut off this weekend

High tides on Saturday 12/7:
around 08:00 & 20:30 along our coast.

To avoid tidal cut off get back to the main part of the beach BEFORE 16:30

High tides on Sunday 13/7:
08:30 and 21:00 along our coast.

To avoid tidal cut off get back to the main part of the beach BEFORE 17:15

We are coming into the 'Marsh' tides when the water will come in a bit higher than normal & flood the marshes, and the low tide mark will be lower than normal exposing sandbars at the remote parts of the beach - which are where people get cut off

PLEASE be water smart and take care of yourselves.
