Meet gorgeous Braveheart Layla ❤️

Here is my Layla who is now 9 years old. Layla was born with coarctation of the aorta and large VSD. She had open heart surgery at five days old. After this she suffered a Cardiac arrest. She also has had cardiac catheterisation twice. She now unfortunately requires more surgery on her vsd. Her bravery and laid back attitude is amazing and she just takes everything in her stride. We are so proud of her and all her fellow heart children ❤️❤️❤️

I know that it is the 1st March and heart awareness month has ended, but I want to share the rest of the Braveheart photos and stories we received in February. I did miss a couple of days too.

Meet handsome Braveheart Jacob ❤️

Meet our Braveheart, Jacob Kalel 💙

Jacob is our long-awaited rainbow baby, and from the very beginning he has shown nothing but strength and courage. He was born with ASD and PAVDR, and at just three years old he underwent heart surgery.

He continues to be monitored by the wonderful cardiac team in Glasgow, who keep a close eye on the small hole that remains and his lung function. Thanks to their care — and Jacob’s incredible resilience — he is thriving.

Now standing at an amazing 6ft tall, he’s grown into such a strong, determined young man, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything he has overcome and continues to achieve.❤️

Meet beautiful Braveheart Bethany ❤️

My miracle braveheart, Bethany. Born in 2000 with Tetralogy of Fallots. She received a shunt at 4 weeks, her repair in 2002 and a pulmonary valve replacement in 2014. She’s seen here with her cardiac surgeon who cared for her through each of her surgeries and to whom we owe our utmost gratitude. Bethany has recently graduated with a first class honours degree in Biomedical Science followed by a Masters Degree in Physician Associate Studies. During her placements in Aberdeen she was thrilled to be able to attend clinics with her own childhood cardiologist ❤️. The examples of the professionals who went above and beyond to care for her have influenced her choice of career in an area she lives.
Many thanks once again ❤️

Meet handsome Braveheart Oscar ❤️

Oscar was born 07/12/2012, with undiagnosed Complex Transposition Of The Great Arteries, he spent his first 2 month in Glasgow having numerous surgeries to correct this, it wasn't completely successful, meaning he needed stents and will likely need at some point hopefully a lot later in life need a heart transplant, he outgrew his stents in 2021 and still going strong at avoid open heart surgery again to replace the arteries, The Zak Scott foundation blessed my son with gifts at Christmas 2012 as well as the beautiful kilt in the picture that he was christened in, this will be cherished forever 💙💙💙

Meet beautiful Braveheart Robin ❤️

This is Robin she was born at 37 weeks om 2nd of December weighing 6lbs 8 after discovering she had the condition tricuspid arteries on her 20 week scan,
Tricuspid atresia is a severe, congenital heart defect where the tricuspid valve does not form, preventing blood flow from the right atrium to the right ventricle. This results in an underdeveloped right heart, low oxygen levels (cyanosis), and requires staged, lifelong surgical treatment (shunt, Glenn, Fontan procedures).
Once little positive note about robin is thay doctors recommended me that she would need a surgery at 3 days old but my baby girl is 9 weeks old now and still not needed that first little shunt and shea grew so much little chunk is now 10lbs and passing all her milestone checks with flying colours x ❤️

Meet handsome Braveheart Leo ❤️

This is leo or leo the lion as we call him leo was born with imperforted a**s which we thought was bad enough then it just got harder and harder from then on. While in NICU doctor came to make sure leo was fit for surgery 45mins past and doctor came back to tell us that leo had 2 holes in his heart and pulmonary stenosis and he would require heart surgery so at one year old he got his open heart surgery which of course he smashed. later on found out he had many other health conditions spina bifida, treacherous stenosis, urethral stenosis, deaf but 6 years on hes at a mainstream school smashing life not letting anything hold him back ❤️
