What is a community larder?
A community larder is here to help support people within our community of Kilwinning who may be finding it hard to make ends meet with the ever rising costs of everyday life.
The pressure of inflation for food, gas and electricity is overwhelming for so many people, the community larder allows a dignified way to help support households who are feeling the strain.
How do we do this....
We offer households access to food that is subsidised, this is possible through funding from NAC fairer food initiative and other sources of funding. We offer a dignified experience in our community larder offering up to £15 worth of shopping for the weekly payment of £6.
This service can be used as and when required and is not a foodbank, we have no requirements to join, well only that you have a Kilwinning address. This is a way to help so many households stretch their budget in financial difficulty.
The food larder is about Dignity, choice and supporting our community in hardship.
If you or anyone who may need the larder please get in touch and we can set up an appointment and one of our volunteers can walk you through how it works at your appointment.
