A Night Under the Stars — 20 Years of CentreStage ✨

On Friday, the Park Hotel was filled with people who have been part of CentreStage in so many different ways across twenty years: our team, volunteers, partners, funders, supporters, friends and family.

There was music, stories, laughter, a few tears, plenty of memories, and so much dancing!

In 2006, we opened CentreStage with a simple belief that music and the arts could bring people together, we hoped people would come, and they did.

They came to sing, dance, act and make music; they brought their children, parents and friends; they volunteered, shared ideas, made introductions, asked for help, offered help and took CentreStage in directions we could never have planned.

Friday night was our chance to celebrate all of that, and so many of the people who made it happen.

But twenty years isn't a finishing line. We are still listening, still learning, still curious about what might come next.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday, and to everyone who has pulled up a chair and been part of CentreStage at any point since 2006.

Meet the Cast of Calendar Girls 🌻

Next up is Lisa Cook, who will be bringing Brenda Hulse to life in our CS Actors Company production of Calendar Girls this Saturday!

Lisa discovered CentreStage around three years ago. Having never performed on stage before, she has since pushed herself outside of her comfort zone, first performing with the choir before taking the leap into the adult actors group.

Lisa has loved every opportunity to take on and learn a new character and is delighted to now be stepping into this role.

From EastEnders to CentreStage… 🎈

The Ju**ie Miracles by Des Dillon is a powerful, raw and deeply human play exploring addiction, relapse and recovery, and this production features EastEnders actor Sam Dodds drawing on her own experience of addiction recovery to bring the story to life.

As highlighted in the Evening Times, this is a production that goes beyond the theatre. It shines a light on the realities of addiction, the courage it takes to recover, and the possibility of finding hope when everything seems lost.

Next up is Scott Campbell, who is playing Lawrence/Liam in our upcoming CS Actors Company production of Calendar Girls.

After the success of playing the lead role of Jeffrey Fairbrother in Hi-de-Hi!, Scott followed that up by taking on the role of the hip-shaking Jim Haller in the musical All Shook Up.

Now, Scott is back as Lawrence in the beautiful, charming, hilarious and heartbreaking Calendar Girls, alongside such a powerful and strong cast of leading ladies.
