As this is we would just like to acknowledge all the wonderful volunteers that make the running of Floyd's possible.

There are many jobs that need doing - many of which go unnoticed - setting up, taking down, the weekly shop, baking, chatting, supporting, washing up, preparing toasties, making up children's boxes, making soup, serving, wiping tables, washing the piles of dish towels, trips to the South Ayrshire Foodbank , sorting footbank boxes, trips to Micah and charity shops, sign posting visitors to other services - the list goes on.

It is always done with a smile and a happy heart and, in case we don't tell them enough, this is the week to tell them again how much they are appreciated. ❤️

The sun may have decided to have a lie in but we haven't😀🌞. Open as usual 0930 - 1200 with some fabulous baking, toasties, tea, coffee, kids bags. Everyone welcome.

For those who don't know about us we are also linked to the South Ayrshire Foodbank and a signposting service for any other needs you may have regarding housing, benefits, employment opportunities etc.

Come along for a relaxed drop-in where you can have a look at different cloth nappy options and chat through what might work best for you.

• Hire kits (try before you commit)

• Free nappies available

💬 No pressure - just friendly advice and support, whether you’re totally nappy-curious, expecting, or already using cloth and need a wee hand.

We wanted to talk a little about the different types of foods that are donated to South Ayrshire Foodbank and how they are often used by the people receiving them.

Cooking sauces like curries, tikka masala and Chinese style sauces are always very gratefully received and can make a really comforting meal for a family. However, these types of sauces often need extra ingredients like chicken, beef or other meat to make a full meal, and for people experiencing financial hardship, those additional ingredients can sometimes be difficult or expensive to buy.

Pasta sauces can often work differently. Families can use them with simple cupboard staples like pasta, rice, lentils or beans to create filling meals, pasta bakes and easy dinners without needing lots of extra ingredients.

There is no “better” donation and we are thankful for every single item that people give. We simply wanted to share a little insight into how food donations are used day to day, and the careful choices many families have to make when stretching food as far as possible.

South Ayrshire really is an incredible community and we are so proud to be part of it. Thank you for every donation, every collection and every act of kindness shown to local people when they need it most 🫶🏻❤️

Good morning everyone and welcome to another week 😊. We look forward to seeing you for the usual natter, beverages, delicious cakes and tasty toasties. All ages welcome 👋

For those of you who are not familiar with, we also have visitors from different council groups who attend on different weeks should you need any advice or assistance. If they aren't there on a particular day we are happy to make contact for you or signpost you. We are also part of the South Ayrshire Foodbank.
