Hi there, friends and followers of Crosshouse Foodbank! As we move through May 2026 may we highlight the following.

The Foodbank is open tomorrow from 12.00-3.00pm Tues. And 12.00-3.00pm on Fridays.

If you weren't aware The Foodbank has now moved from Crosshouse Church Hall to the Crosshouse Community Area Centre - please enter at the rear gate see attached pic for reference.

The Crosshouse Foodbank is for use by the residents of Crosshouse and immediate area only.

You will be required to leave your name and address and telephone number whenever you make a request or call upon us for assistance.

We are seeing a greater number of people coming to us for assistance outwith the village - we will always help in cases of emergency - but we must point out if there is a Foodbank or Food Larder closer to your postal address- then that's where you should go for assistance. If you don't know where to come- please see pics.

May we also highlight that due to a high volume of people coming to us for assistance that we have a shortage of tinned foods and cereal

If anybody can please help by dropping off any spare food or provisions you may have during the above hours it would be very greatly appreciated.

As many people are struggling with financial uncertainty, difficulty with rising costs and ever increasing bills. We are here to help those most in need.

It would not be possible without the incredible support we receive from within the community and beyond.

We must also therefore also thank the many local individuals, businesses including East Ayrshire Council, The SPAR ( CJ Lang & Son) in Crosshouse, Iceland Kilmarnock, Aldi Kilmarnock, Lidl in Kilmarnock, Kilmarnock Rotary Club and Chris @ Hovis Glasgow along with our small but dedicated group of volunteers for your fantastic, unwavering support. You are a credit to the community.

If you would like to donate food or cash then please contact Janice Smyth on 077 879 70341 or James Kurth here on Facebook or alternatively bring any donations along to the Crosshouse Community Area Centre in Crosshouse on a Tuesday or Friday from 12.00-3.00pm.

Good morning Facebook friends and followers! What a great night was had by all who attended our Easter Giveaway at the Crosshouse Foodbank last night. Thanks to all who came along to meet the Easter Bunny, received eggs and enjoy our stalls. Thanks to event organisers Janice Smyth and James Kurth. Thanks to all stall holders and our wonderful volunteers Dorothy Mckenzie, Henry Carruthers , Ellen Strachan , Nicola Sloan Hughes Mcdade , Heather Westerman and Fong Chau.

And a huge thanks to the Easter Bunny. Special thanks to the Spar, Crosshouse, Jayne Sangster, Maise N Mac Kilday who donated Easter eggs and raffle prizes. Happy Easter to you all!

Registration for funded Early Learning and Childcare

Applications for funded early learning and childcare places, for three and four year olds in East Ayrshire, are now open and close at midnight on Friday 27 February.

To complete the online application you will need to provide a copy of your child's full birth certificate and two proofs of residency, in the form of a Council Tax Notice or a utility bill.

If required, you can get a copy of your child's birth certificate online.

Apply today for an Early Years clothing grant
Applications are now open for the early years clothing grant

This is for parents and carers of children starting early learning and childcare settings this April, and for any parents and carers who missed earlier deadlines.

£75 is available per child age 3 and 4 years, whose circumstances meet the criteria for footwear and clothing grants.

Please note the grant is only paid once per academic year.

All the information you need is online

Applications will close on Friday 13 February.

May we take this opportunity to thank everyone who came along in support of the Crosshouse Foodbank in association with Crosshouse Action Now Community Co Ltd Burns Supper held at the Foodbank within the Crosshouse Area Centre.
It was a very well attended from within the village. Many thanks to Gwen Reid for catering. Many thanks to all our guest speakers and performers - you all did a wonderful job and kept everyone present entertained through the evening.
Many thanks to all who donated raffle prizes to support the evening it is very much appreciated.
