Helping Hands When It Matters Most
Last week, one of our clients unfortunately had an accident, leaving her temporarily unable to walk and in urgent need of a self-propelled wheelchair. Thanks to the amazing local charity Helping Hands right here in Kilmarnock, we were able to pick up a loan chair quickly and get her the support she needed.
We were blown away not just by the generosity, but by the incredible work this team does every single day across East Ayrshire, and we want to shine a light on their services.
👨🔧 Low-Level Maintenance Service
From changing curtains to small DIY tasks, Helping Hands supports over 700 elderly and disabled clients in East Ayrshire with practical help around the home, all for just £25 per year.
🛒 Shopping & Delivery
A team of three friendly staff provide weekday shopping support, helping up to 10 clients per day in Kilmarnock and surrounding areas with essential groceries and supplies.
♿ Wheelchair Loan Service
If you or a loved one needs a short-term wheelchair, whether it’s for a day trip or a few weeks of recovery, Helping Hands has 20 chairs available to borrow, completely free of charge.
