SEPA’s investigation into the cause and environmental impact of the pollution event at the River Dochart, near Killin, in February, remains a priority. We continue to work with Police Scotland and other agencies to gather evidence and information to inform those investigations. All enforcement options remain open to SEPA.

Throughout this time SEPA officers have been monitoring the river, overseeing clean-up work, and assessing the impact on the local environment. Our most recent visit to the location on Thursday 30th April showed a stabilising situation across the wider area. Containment measures at the source remain effective. The remediation contractor, employed by site operator Certas, has continued daily visual inspections and observed no impacts across the last month in the River Dochart, and down to the east end of Loch Tay.
