𝗞𝗶𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗥𝗕𝗟 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗕𝗘

Last night our Women’s Section were honoured to host Andy Allen MBE In Kilkeel Legion at our dinner.

Andy is a true hero who so humbly shared his story of service and sacrifice. His journey is genuinely inspiring and his continued work for the veterans community is incredibly important. With the continued support of his wife Natalie and their family over the years Andy’s sincerity and openness of his experiences is very powerful. We thank them for joining us as well as thanking all in attendance.

Last night Members joined to enjoy a lovely meal in the Tam O’Shanter Restaurant in Kilkeel.

We look forward to a busy 2026 in Kilkeel RBL Women’s Section where we continue to uphold our work in supporting the families of our Veteran Community.

This morning at Kilkeel Cenotaph as part of the Remembrance Service our Kilkeel RBL Women’s Section President Elizabeth King, Vice-Chair Adelaide Orr and NI District representative Gillian Hanna laid a wreath.

This afternoon a number of our members joined the Kilkeel RBL Remembrance Parade and Service in Christ Church with the Deputy Lord Lieutenant for County Down Noel Lamb in attendance.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We Will Remember Them. 🌺

🌺 Remembrance weekend Kilkeel 🌺

Sunday 09th November muster at 1030hrs for 1100hrs service at War Memorial.

Afternoon Parade form-up on the Fire station at 1415hrs for step off 1430hrs to Church of Ireland Kilkeel for service and return parade.

All military Veterans, Service personal, RBL members, Emergency services and church youth organisations welcome.

Tuesday 11th November at the War Memorial at Mourne Church 1100hrs

Huge thanks to everyone who came along to our Annual Quiz this evening in the Royal British Legion Kilkeel.

It was a brilliant evening raising funds in aid of the Benevolent Fund. Thanks to our quiz master Fraser and all who donated.

We are holding our Annual Quiz night on Friday 7th November at 8pm in Kilkeel Royal British Legion, everyone welcome.

Today a number of our members travelled to Cookstown the RBL Women’s Section Northern Ireland District AGM.

We had a great day with powerful speakers including the Northern Ireland Veterans Commissioner David Johnstone, Andy Allen MBE MLA, National Treasurer Sandra Fishlock and our NI WS President Joanne Andrew Steer.

The Veterans community deserves our respect and support for the service to our country. We are proud within the Women’s Section to play our part in this, especially by fundraising for the Benevolent Fund supporting widows and families of veterans.

We were proud that our branch was 2025 runner up on the Nora Glover Cup!

Thanks to Cookstown RBL for hosting us on this great day.

Today some of our members enjoyed a lovely outing to Donaghadee. It was great to get out as a group together.

We have a busy time ahead planned with lots of events, meetings and fundraising for the Benevolent Fund. Thanks to everyone for their continued support. 😊
