🇺🇸✨ Last night our Highland Heathers marked the 250th anniversary of the USA Declaration of Independence with a brilliant evening of history, creativity, and friendship! ✨🇺🇸

We were delighted to welcome James from the Schomberg Society , who gave us a talk on the Ulster-Scots connection to this anniversary.

We then welcomed back Melissa from ~ArT By MeLiSsA~ who led everyone in a fantastic mosaic activity, with plenty of talent on display! 🎨🖼️

To round off the evening, we enjoyed some delicious refreshments from The Parlour Annalong Ice Cream — the perfect treat on such a warm night! 🍦☀️

This was our final meeting of the season - and before we return in September, two very special members of our group will be getting married! 💍. Sending all our love and best wishes to Rachel and Megan and their husbands-to-be. ❤️

We hope everyone has a wonderful summer, and we look forward to seeing you all again in September!

What a wonderful time we had at our April gathering! 🌸✨

Our gorgeous ladies got creative with a glass painting activity, turning simple vases into beautiful works of art. A big thank you to the talented Melissa McKee ~ArT By MeLiSsA~ , who guided us through the process—there are clearly some very arty ladies in our group! 🎨💐

Of course, no gathering would be complete without supper, and we thoroughly enjoyed some delicious Top Nosh Catering classic tea boxes—absolutely lovely! ☕🍰

We’re so grateful to the Warrenpoint Port for funding this event.

At our March gathering, Linda from Hilltop prepared a wonderful workshop for our ladies, where they created herb 🪴 planters and bird feeders. We are looking forward to using the herbs and enjoying watching the local birds visit the feeders.

These activities were kindly funded by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.

Last Wednesday our lovely ladies met for our February gathering! 💛

Deborah got us feeling creative as she showed us how to make thistle keychains and bag charms – everyone’s turned out brilliantly! 🌿✨

After that, we enjoyed a lesson on healthy eating and practical advice we can all use in everyday life.

A big thank you to Diane and Deborah for sharing their time and talents with us.

We would also like to sincerely thank Newry, Mourne and Down District Council for their funding and Schomberg Society for their continued support — it is very much appreciated.

We had our annual Highland Heathers Christmas party in the Kilmorey Arms Hotel last night. The food was 10/10✔️ the crack was mighty ✔️, and of course the highlight of the evening was the special visit from Santa himself! 🎅💖

A huge thank-you to all our lovely ladies who faithfully attend our meetings throughout the year — your support means so much and we truly think you’re the best! 💐

✨ November Gathering ✨

Our wonderful ladies were getting into the Christmas spirit this month!
There was cake craft, plenty of creativity, and lots of laughter. 🎄💜

A huge thank you to Alex Woods for her expert tutorial — everyone loved it!

We also enjoyed a delicious festive supper from Joan Graham’s Home Bakes: White chocolate & cranberry caramel squares, Mince pies and Shortbread, all washed down with some Fruit punch!!

Our Highland Heathers enjoyed our annual outing today!

A wee jaunt up to Coleman’s garden centre followed by a run into Forestside shopping centre. (Let’s just say the storage compartment in the bus was stuffed with shopping bags!! )

Then a wee stop off at French’s in Clough for a delicious meal. An all-round great day with a great bunch of girls!!

At our October meeting, our lovely ladies got creative and made some beautiful poppies. 🌺 There was plenty of concentration, lots of chat, and some truly wonderful results!

We were also treated to delicious poppy empire biscuits from The Thirsty Herd — thank you, they went down a treat! 😋☕️

We’re now looking forward to our upcoming trip, and would like to say a big thank you to The Schomberg Society for all your continued support. ❤️

First night back for our 25/26 season and what a special one – marking the 80th anniversary of VJ Day!!

🌸 Big thanks to Diane at Charlottes Web Floral Studio for the stunning flowers – with chrysanthemums for remembrance (the National Flower of Japan) and arrangements shaped like bonfires, just as they were lit at the end of the war.

🍰 Thanks also to Diane at Top Nosh Catering for a lovely supper and those perfect Victoria sponges (a tasty WW2 nod!).

But best of all? Seeing all our amazing ladies together again 💖
