Made In Mourne is a Social Enterprise providing facilities, knowledge, and support for local entrepreneurs in the rural coastal Mourne region to launch and sustainably grow their businesses. Helping small businesses counteract the lack of opportunities, poor internet connectivity, and physical isolation in an economically deprived rural area. We have dedicated premises in Kilkeel, housing our Shop

and our Business Hub which are also tangible examples of what is possible in an isolated rural town, when facilities are available, when training is provided, when networks are built, and when opportunities are shared. Starting a business in an isolated rural environment means navigating poor internet connectivity and physical isolation, on top of all the usual hurdles entrepreneurs face. The Made In Mourne Business Hub is a modern connected workspace providing the facilities and support for local entrepreneurs to launch and grow their businesses. We offer meeting rooms and private or shared office spaces available with no long term lease commitment. A place to connect to high speed internet, and to concentrate on work for an hour, a day, a week, or as long as they need. Our business support networks provide opportunities to participate in networking events, attend training workshops, and find supported mentoring programmes. The Made In Mourne Shop is our way to find and promote the products
of talented local makers. We offer valuable shelf space in a prominent retail environment and online through our e-commerce website. Then we help them raise their profiles and to build sustainable growth through training and collaboration. All the profit we make is reinvested back into the community, helping us to discover,
inspire and promote the next creative talent. We believe that by providing the right facilities and support to our entrepreneurs they will, in turn, grow the local economy and enable job creation helping our rural communities to thrive.
