“One of the best nights” was the feedback heard around the room at the end of Lads Group last night - they enjoyed games (like Empires) in the upper and simply having a space to build friendships and support one another.

This Saturday is World Mental Health Day and we’re excited to be in JIMS Youth Centre delivering awareness workshops to young people Friday and Saturday evenings at their Junior & Senior Dropins.

It was a night full of chats and crafting at Girls Night In - don’t all the autumn wreaths look amazing?!?

We hope they find the perfect place to be displayed 🍂

Thank you to all the girls for sharing around the hot glue, tidying up and really engaging in the workshop!

After all the leaves were brushed up, the girls enjoyed the dropin room with tuck shop & Empires.

All girls in 1st yr+ are welcome to come along next week for autumn crafts - no need to register. Just turn up! If you’ve not yet attended, please organise a consent form to be completed (online forms or paper copies available).

Spaces available for October as we continue our pilot programme: Laid Back Dropin, Thursdays 3.30pm-5pm.

Open to young people in P6-YR8 | £1 admission weekly

We aim to keep sessions small to suit young people who prefer a quieter atmosphere and dropin than after schools clubs or weekend dropin at JIMS.

Thursday dropin would suit SEN young people or those who simply prefer a more chilled space.

Hot food provided at each session alongside “normal dropin” activities like pool, PS5, tuck shop, switch, and more. Optional craft activity each week too!

Well done to Mitchell on winning the Lads pool competition which they planned last week.

It was great to see some new faces on Wednesday evening! We hope to see everyone back next week for more fun and a chance to support one another as young men.

We’re absolutely delighted with the support from the Asda Foundation for Kilkeel Parish Bridge Association Ltd (JIMS Youth Centre & Regenerate Mental Health Hub).

As you can see we had a great time celebrating with Lisa, Community Champion, from our local Asda shop.

We’re back tomorrow with another Laid Back Dropin 3.30pm-5pm for P6-YR8 young people.

If you are, or have a young person, who would like to try dropin but a quieter setting please send us a message to book your space!

Thursday afternoon are quiet, chill and laid back dropins to make use of the consoles, board games and optional craft after school.

We had such a great weekend in JIMS Youth Centre for Junior & Senior Dropin with over 60 young people and volunteers sharing some resources to help promote mental health.

Both nights we had some great discussions around habits that help or hinder mental health and thought about how we can set small goals to build our future supporting our mental health and wellbeing.

At Senior Dropin, young people also thought about the cycle of negative thoughts which can impact our daily lives. Everyone took a moment to consider positive affirmations and think about how they are each valued by those around them.

We hope the young people enjoy the free goodies and remember that Regenerate is here in Kilkeel and able to provide FREE professional counselling for ages 5-21 if anyone needs extra support for their mental health.
