This Summer Solstice, cyclists from across Scotland take on the incredible 233‑mile sunrise‑to‑sunset challenge in support of the GEF Foundation.

Everyone here at Ardnamurchan Lighthouse wishes all taking part good luck, a safe journey, and the strength to enjoy every mile of this epic ride.

We’ll be ready to welcome you at the very end of your adventure, here at the most westerly point on the British mainland — where your achievement will meet the Solstice sunset.

A big shout‑out to Jane Barker and the amazing P2–P7 pupils from Acharacle Primary School!

They spent the morning diving into the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse exhibition, checking out the engine room, sketching what inspired them, and exploring every corner of the grounds.

The highlight for many was climbing the tower all the way up to the lightroom, where they looked out to sea and took in those incredible views. Their excitement and curiosity filled the whole site with energy.

As a community‑owned asset, it’s brilliant to see young people engaging with the lighthouse, learning about its history, and connecting with a place that belongs to all of us.

What a fantastic group — come back anytime!

Our cafe is open 10-5 and lighthouse tours are running 11-4, we hope to welcome you soon 😊
