Kilburn Feast

Kilburn Feast A traditional village fete, raising money for charity and bringing local community together The Kilburn Feast has existed from time immemorial.

This event happens ever year due to the kindness and committment of the Friends of the Feast . It starts on the Saturday after July 6th. Formerly, on the Saturday, men played quoits in the Square and children ran races in the cricket field. On the Sunday there was an open air service in the Square. On the Monday evening there was horse trotting and later, sulky (two-wheeled carriage) and motor-cyc

le races around the cricket field, the evening ending in a dance at the village hall. On the Tuesday, celebrations were of a local nature and enshrined the most ancient features of the Feast. Now the events are based around the Friday to and including Sunday.

Now that the dust has well and truly settled, we thought we’d show some highlights from another amazing Kilburn Feast ✨

🍻☀️🎻We are ready for Saturday at the Feast!

Come down to Kirk’s Field in Kilburn to have a go at the classic game of quoits, listen to our musical accompaniment The Cod Beck Ceilidh Band and have a refreshment from our own ‘Twattleton Arms’ and food at our BBQ.

The fun keeps going later in the evening with Tug of War at 5pm and the famous MOUSE DERBY at 7pm! 🐭

To top it off, we are showing the England v Norway game at 10pm with our bar open until late into the night! 🍾⚽️

🎟️🥩🥦 Continuing from the success of last year, we will be rolling out THREE separate Meat & Veg Raffles over the course of the weekend! Whether you can join us on the Friday night at the Quiz, on the Saturday at the Mouse Derby, or the Sunday for the Feast in the Field, you will be in with a chance of winning some fantastic local meat and veg 😋

With fantastic support and donations from local suppliers including frankfamilybutchers, Johnson's Butchers, The Greengrocer Thirsk, we are really excited to raise hundreds of pounds for charity again through you all bidding for your next BBQ pack or pack of steaks!

One of our most local sponsors, the Yorkshire Gliding Club has donated an incredible prize for this year’s Feast - a first flight voucher in one of their gliders!

Located on top of the iconic Sutton Bank, the Yorkshire Gliding Club operates a state of the art fibreglass fleet which allows glider pilots from the UK and further afield to exploit the superb soaring conditions that occur in North Yorkshire.
