Gwenllian school (year 4) joined us last Wednesday and we planted some pants! No we haven't gone mad, the Country Trust do this every year to get children engaged in soils. We used cotton pants and dug these into 3 different locations around the centre. We will dig them up in 8 weeks and see what has happened to the pants. If you would like more information the Country Trust website is great for all things soil.

Last week we harvested our black winter radish that we’ve grown in the polytunnel over winter. We were unsure what to do with it and found a recipe online. Kate and the mencap group tweaked it a bit and added some leeks and potato. There was a reluctance to try at first but we got around that and everyone agreed it was very good.
I’ve posted the recipe above if anyone had a surplus of black winter radish!

Deliciously, unapologetically radishy with a stunning absence of color, the same recipe can be made with red radishes to turn it a pale cherry-blossom pink.

This week as it was the last session of the year, most of the group worked together in the
kitchen to help cook Christmas Dinner, whilst the others went outside to plant in the raised
beds.
The Christmas dinner that was served to everyone was really lovely and beautifully cooked,
After dinner was served, we played some games, and listened to music.
It was a really lovely day for all involved.
At the end of the lunch, we had a team photo
