Murder most foul in Kirtlington?!?

Our members’ meeting this Thursday, 8 October (7pm-9pm) at the Village Hall is an evening of mystery and intrigue - four of our members will act out a murder mystery - and we all get to work out whodunnit, with the help of Peter Tickler, a local crime writer, whose books are often set in and around Oxford. He may well have some books available to buy at the meeting.

The mystery is set in a milliners, so dressing-up lovers do come along with your favourite hat/headwear to help set the scene if you like!

Ladies over 18 always welcome as visitors (£5 to include light supper). If you’re interested in joining us, your first meeting is free.

Hello everyone

At our members’ meeting on Thursday, 10th September (7pm-9pm) we will be joined by Kirtlington’s own Anthony Child for a **Photography Masterclass.** Some of you may know Anthony, who regularly posts his wonderful photography on the village page. We'll learn a little about him and how he got into photography, but the main purpose of the evening is for us to learn ourselves how to take better photos. So do bring along your mobile phones or cameras (which ever is your favourite method of taking pics), and we can all learn some tips.

Ladies over 18 always welcome as visitors, so please ask your friends along (£5 to include tea). Please bring shared plates as usual (no charge for tea for members). W**e available.
Several of the committee are away this time, so as always we’d appreciate any help with making tea/coffee and clearing afterwards.

Donations of raffle prizes always welcome.

In a change to our plans as there were sadly not enough takers for a Rousham trip to be viable, at our meeting on Thursday, 9 July (Village Hall, 7pm) our very own Sue Cole will lead us through an evening of Japanese crafts, making kokeshi dolls and trying our hand at origami. It promises to be a fascinating evening, whatever your crafting abilities.
Members please bring a plate of something savoury or sweet to share as usual (homemade optional!). W**e available for a donation. Guests (women over 18) always welcome (£5), non-members free.

A massive thank you to everyone (members and non-members!) who helped Kirtlington WI at the fete on Saturday, with our stall and with the refreshments in the hall. All the help and contributions of baked goods were very much appreciated! 👏🏻🥰

At our members’ meeting on Thursday, 11 June (7-9pm) we will be joined by Kirtlington’s own Shelley van Loen, who will demonstrate how she makes some of her delicious Shelley Chocolates 😋 and there will also be a selection available to buy afterwards (Shelley has her own SumUp machine for card payments). Today the Committee sends love and well wishes to you all on International Women's Day. We want to celebrate all women and remind you how wonderful you all are.

The theme for IWD this year is "Give to Gain" - perhaps that means something to you. You may be receiving love, care and attention from someone, or you may be a giver of your time, love, skills and energy - if so, please remember that it is very much appreciated.

Whether you are spending the day with loved ones at home, on holiday, in the garden, walking in nature, at work, supporting others, or being supported by friends and neighbours yourself - remember how amazing you are. Whatever you're doing, we hope you have a great day.

Dear Members,

Happy New Year to you all.

Please come and join us for our January meeting, on Thursday 8th January, 7pm in the village hall. It will be an evening of calm and relaxation with a sound bath led by Zelda de Freitas, who some of you will remember from last time. It can either be seated or you can lay down on the floor. Please bring a yoga/exercise mat if you have one to lie on, or a blanket. Loose clothing is also a good idea, just for comfort. This is not a physical activity, more of a relaxation session.

Please also bring something for the shared plates tea. And we will also have our usual raffle tea/coffee, drinks.

Dear Members,

We have our Christmas Meal this coming Thursday 11th December, but we know that not everyone is able to make it. We will miss you.

As the year closes, we wanted to say what a great year it has been at Kirtlington WI, we have loved spending time with you, getting involved with activities, learning new skills, and learning from our speakers. We thank you all for your involvement, and for all your help with teas, helping at the meetings and of course, helping at the Summer Fete. We look forward to an exciting year of activities next year.

We're sending you seasons greetings, and wish you all a happy and healthy 2026.
