Members of WPCSG enjoyed a lovely sunny walk today as part of our “Walk & Talk” programme. Starting from the Star Inn in Pershore, the group completed a circular route of around three miles, taking in the riverside, Pershore College and Wick.

The walk followed mainly green field footpaths, with stunning views of Bredon Hill and the Malvern Hills providing a beautiful backdrop throughout. The outing concluded with a well-earned visit to the pub for refreshments and a chance to socialise.

Our “Walk & Talk” programme continues to provide a great opportunity for members to enjoy gentle exercise, fresh air and good company while supporting their wellbeing.

Worcestershire Prostate Cancer Support Group are offering free PSA testing for men over 40 here in Evesham on Saturday 27th June at Evesham Rugby Club.

This is you last call to get booked in, and get checked at this free event. Numbers are limited and this is the final week for registration.

Prostate Cancer is curable, if caught early and will affect one in eight men here in the UK.

The PSA test is a blood test that measures the amount of prostate specific antigen (PSA) in your blood. PSA is a protein produced by normal cells in the prostate and also by prostate cancer cells. It’s normal to have a small amount of PSA in your blood, and the amount rises slightly as you get older and your prostate gets bigger. A raised PSA level may suggest you have a problem with your prostate.

BOOK NOW - Evesham Rugby Club on the 27th June 2026.

Well done Peter and Active Always Worcester

In Stourport, a weekly cancer rehabilitation coffee group led by Active Always Worcester and supported by our Public Health grant is giving residents a safe, welcoming space to regain strength, mobility and connection.

Each session blends gentle, tailored exercise with time to talk, share experiences and support one another. For many, it’s become a lifeline, physically and emotionally.

Peter, 65, joined the group while preparing for prostate cancer surgery. With encouragement from the instructors and fellow participants, he built fitness, lost weight and found reassurance from others who had walked the same path. After surgery, he recovered faster than expected and is now fitter, more active and more connected than before his diagnosis.

His story is a powerful reminder of how staying active, talking openly and having the right support can transform recovery, especially during Men’s Mental Health Week, when we’re shining a light on the importance of men reaching out, speaking up and looking after both body and mind.

The Stourport cancer rehab coffee group continues to welcome new members, offering a friendly, motivating environment for anyone rebuilding after cancer.
