So proud of Abi Smith and her CHARITY The Circle of Hope - GypsyRoma&Traveller ! Huge congratulations on your official Charity status. We are so privileged that you're so local to us and so helpful and enthusiastic about our project!

🎉 WE ARE OFFICIALLY A REGISTERED CHARITY! 🎉

We are absolutely thrilled to finally be able to announce that:

❤️ **THE CIRCLE OF HOPE - GYPSY ROMA & TRAVELLERS CIO** ❤️

is now officially a **registered charity**.

**Registered Charity Number: 1219713**

This is such a huge milestone for us and something we have worked incredibly hard towards.

The Circle of Hope was created to support, represent and advocate for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities, to help improve understanding, challenge barriers and make sure lived experience is heard where it matters.

Becoming a registered charity opens so many more doors for the work we want to do — from partnerships and training to community support, projects, funding opportunities and so much more.

We are incredibly excited for what comes next.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, worked alongside us, believed in what we are building and helped us reach this point.

This is only the beginning. ❤️

Take a look at Rainey the Romany! Let's hope to see this and other Gypsy, Roma and Traveller books in libraries and schools across the country!

📚 Representation matters 📚

We wanted to share this beautiful debut picture book, Rainey the Romany by Elijah Vardo.

This heartwarming, beautifully illustrated story follows a young girl starting a new school and proudly sharing her Romany heritage. It shows children that celebrating their culture and becoming part of a new community can go hand in hand.

We would love to see more positive Gypsy, Roma and Traveller representation in children’s books. We encourage families, schools and libraries to purchase a copy and help children see Romany culture represented with pride. 💚❤️

The book is available online or can be ordered through your local bookshop:

In June, one of our local churches Kidderminster West Team Ministry welcomed Crystal's Vardo for two performances. This was a little bittersweet for us, as our arranged performances for the following days had to be postponed due to the extreme heat warning. However, it was wonderful to be able to see the performance! We are so lucky locally that we have so many positive things happening The Circle of Hope - GypsyRoma&Traveller GRT Friendly Churches.

In case you missed it, here’s a review of the two performances of Crystal’s Vardo which were held in Kidderminster in June for GRT history month. Did you attend the play? Did you enjoy it? Would you be interested in future events to learn about or celebrate GRT history and culture? Do comment or email [email protected]

Lovely to see our event in the local press!
