Our busiest summer yet at The Green Patch!

Visitor numbers at our beloved Kettering community garden are up around 20% year on year, with a string of record-breaking events including:

🌿 More than 550 people at our Naturally Connected meadow opening...our biggest single-event turnout ever
🌱 Over £1,800 raised at May's plant sale...a new record!
🎉 Record attendance at our Youthfest event in August
🦋 More than 50 budding scientists joining our butterfly count

It has been brilliant to see so many people coming through our gates this summer, taking part in everything from the meadow opening to Tai Chi classes.

Every visit helps us understand more about the site and the difference it makes to the people that use it.

A big shout out, and thank you, must go to the The National Lottery Community Fund whose funding has supported this growth through the Go Greener @ The Green Patch project...which has helped us open more often (including weekends), recruit new staff and volunteers, and run more events.

There's plenty more coming this autumn and winter, including:

Nigel's Big Litter Pick – 19th September
Healthy Schools event – 26th September
Halloween event – 31st October
Christmas Fayre & produce sale – 28th November

🗣️ Thank you for such an incredible response to Community Voices Micro Grants.

We've been overwhelmed by interest from groups across , and wanting to help us hear from communities who don't always get a seat at the table.

The scheme is now closed to new applications. We're reviewing everything that's come in and will be contacting successful applicants very shortly.

Thank you to everyone who applied, and to Made With Many for delivering this locally as part of the government-backed Pride in Place programme.

Got a great idea for getting kids eating and cooking healthier...but need funding to make it happen?

Tesco's Fruit & Veg Grants are open now for Northamptonshire schools, PTAs, charities and community groups, offering up to £1,500 for projects that help children and young people eat well and live well.

Think cookery clubs, growing spaces, healthy holiday activities, or food access projects, if it gets young people cooking, growing or eating better, it could qualify.

🗣️ What matters most where you live? We want to fund you to find out.

Groundwork Northants has grants of £500–£4,000 up for grabs for local groups who can help make sure people across , and get a real say in future investment in their area part of the government-backed Pride in Place programme, delivered locally by Made With Many .

We're especially keen to hear from groups already trusted by communities who don't always get heard in the usual consultations - think working-age men, ethnically diverse and Eastern European communities, people facing mental health challenges or homelessness, neurodivergent people, and local employees and business owners.

If that's you, here's what's involved: have honest conversations with local people, find out their top priorities, and flag the places and opportunities where investment could really make a difference.

📌 We need applications in ASAP so there's time to get the money out and for projects to wrap up by 25 September.
