Well done to Peter for winning tonight’s Presidential Quiz 🏆

How many bones are in the human body? We had lots of different answers from the medics!

We also enjoyed seeing photographs of all the amazing things we have done in the past 12 months. It is always great to look back and smile at lots of great memories we have created 📸

Today we had a little helper to deliver our recently purchased plants to St Thomas More Kettering Primary School for their prayer garden. We are sure the children will enjoy planting these in connection with their First Holy Communion preparation, and the bees will like them too 🤍🐝

Rotary Children’s Fun Day 2026 - we can’t express enough our delight in funding for the local children with special needs to attend a day at Wicksteed just to see joy and excitement on their faces😀

Thank you so much to our members that helped car park marshal and give out lunches to the children and their carers. Thank you to the Kettering Inner Wheel members for making up around 1,000 rolls. Big thanks to Tesco Extra and Country Style Foods for their food contributions. All left over food was given to the Foodbank and Soup Kitchen. A big shout out to the fabulous Julie Gillies and Cheryl from Tesco for their help and support - we have so much love for you ❤️

The Rotary Children’s Day out is so special. Here is what one lovely parent said “I just wanted to thank you all for the wonderful memories over the years these lovely days have made for us. It's great to share the day with fellow class friends, they all have such a lovely time. The smiles on their faces always melt my heart. Thank you for all the hard work you all put in to make this possible for my daughter to enjoy and all of the other children that get to attend to. It is appreciated and we will treasure our memories we have made always, particularly the memories made today as it's the last one with our Kingsley friends.” It’s this feedback that makes everything worthwhile.

Tonight we were treated to David’s composed song all about our wonderful holiday to Bournemouth.

🎶’Where our host was quite clear we were there to drink beer his generosity overwhelming. So with Rotary glee we succumbed to his plea and the rain came down’ 🎶

Thank you David for your taking the time to compose such a thoughtful and funny song, and making us all laugh this evening!

Thank you so much to Russell Marriott for the most fascinating talk this evening ‘from apache to artificial intelligence’.

Russell retired from HM Forces after 22 years to become a civilian and start a new career. Russell now works for Lumentum who specialise in photonics.

Fibre optics, lasers, data centres - wow we all learnt a lot. It was amazing to learn what a massive difference the developments in photonics has made to our everyday life, without us realising!

Did you know that the LED was invented near Towcester? 💡

We all had so many questions for Russell for such an interesting topic which is somewhat mind boggling 🤯

Thank you to everyone that came to our fabulous Jazz Lunch this afternoon 🎶

We had a relaxing afternoon in the sunshine listening to the wonderful Dave Johnson band and eating lots of delicious food - with the added treat of visiting the famous Montagu Monuments.

Thank you so much to our fantastic helpers today that made it possible to host the event; from our chefs, bar staff, raffle ticket sellers, organisers, setters up and clearers away - lots of hard work 👏🏻

We raised around £1,600 and this will enable us to continue with our international projects 🌍
