Nearly two months out from the festival, the Greenbelt Stitchers are hard at work volunteering their time, creativity and expertise to fashion another brand new artwork. You’ll have to make do with these BTS pics for now, but we can’t wait to see it in all its Glade arena glory. Thank you to everyone who sews and stitches their heart out for the festival we all love.

As begins, we’d love to introduce something that’s going to transform a particular space at our festival into a sea of light, reflection and movement.

It’s called ‘Migration’, created by artists Musson+Retallick. Find out why it’s one of the most ambitious and thought-provoking pieces of art we’ve ever had at the festival.

Since announcing that we’ll be leaving Boughton after our one final Greenbelt there this summer, we’ve been scouring the land for a new home for the festival we love.

That search over the last year has been hugely helpful. We’ve seen some fabulous places and learned a lot. About what we want. As well as what we don’t.

We’re looking for a place where our festival can become more fully itself. More imaginative. More rooted. More sustainable. More accessible. Somewhere Greenbelt can be more Greenbelt.

There are some really strong contenders. But we're not done with the search quite yet. After more than fifty years of making this strange and beautiful thing together, we owe it to Greenbelters past, present and future, to give this our very best shot.

This means that Greenbelt will need to take a breather in 2027 – at least as the full-scale festival event you know and love.

Next year will still hold plenty of opportunities for Greenbelters to be Greenbelters. We’ve lots of festival-flavoured goodness planned for you.

The next chapter is taking a little longer to write. Like all the very best things though, we promise it will be worth the wait.

For now, we want to say thank you. Thank you for caring enough to keep asking questions. Thank you for sticking with us while we search. Thank you for helping us imagine what Greenbelt will become next.

If you’d like to find out more about our plans for 2027 (and 2028) then there’s a longer version of this on our website. https://www.greenbelt.org.uk/statements/ -takes-a-breather-in-2027

In the meantime, it’s time to savour every moment of this chapter we’ve enjoyed in our current home. Make sure you’re joining us to say bye-bye to Boughton this summer.

Say hello to BCUC: one of the most electrifying live bands on the planet. An afro-psychedelic funk band from Soweto, SA, they’re part punk band, part spiritual awakening, part controlled explosion. And all ours this August.

Here's why we cannot wait for these Greenbelt favourites to make a return to our fields this summer...

We love Kate Rusby and (as she explains here, a few seconds before she went on stage last year) the feeling’s mutual.

As we get ready for one last big summer gathering in the glorious grounds of Boughton House, we want to raise a reusable pint cup to one of the most beautiful places we've ever been lucky enough to call home. Here are just some of the reasons we love it.

1. Boughton doesn't reveal itself all at once. By the time you've arrived, you've already started leaving the rest of the world behind. Turn off the road and follow the winding drive through the estate towards the festival.

2. And then there it is. The lake. The woodland. The lawns. The avenues of trees disappearing into the distance. Boughton House isn’t called "the English Versailles" for nothing.

3. And for four days each summer we have the run of the place. There's something rather lovely about stepping out of your tent first thing in the morning, coffee brewing, and finding yourself in the grounds of a stately home before breakfast.

4. Beautiful places should be shared. Rolling fields and historic landscapes don't always make accessibility easy, but every year we lay miles of trackway and work hard to make as much of the site as possible accessible to as many people as possible.

5. It’s not just for looking at though. It's even better when you're making something, building something, painting something, or covering yourself in glue at one of our workshops. Sometimes the best way to appreciate a place is to get your hands dirty.

6. For kids of all ages, Greenbelt offers the chance to play games on the largest, poshest lawn you’ve ever kicked a ball or chucked a frisbee on, with magnificent views of the lake and mount. It’s our adventure playground for the weekend.

7. If you’re a city-lover who’s only used to seeing one or two stars at night, then do we have a treat for you. Get ready to see more stars in one night than you’ve seen in the past ten years.

8. Getting cold? Take a seat around the fire in the campsite each night, and enjoy the open skies and warmth of the flames.

9. We want to leave all of this natural wonder just how we found it at the end of the weekend. When the last song’s sung and the final tent’s down, we tidy up so well the only thing we leave are memories.

Say hello to one of the boldest, funniest and most gloriously unafraid shows heading to Greenbelt this summer: Luisa Omielan’s God is a Woman: The Musical.

It’s part stand-up, part theatre, part spiritual unravelling. Wholly unique and perfect for Greenbelt.

Here’s why we think her show will be one of the most talked-about things in the fields this year…

To celebrate , here are some top tips from two of our very own volunteers. And THANK YOU from all of us at Greenbelt to all of you for your hard work and open hearts. We simply couldn’t make the space we do without you.

We all love reuniting with our regular Greenbelt crew, but is there anything better than bringing someone new to the fields and watching them fall in love with our festival too?

It can be a little scary, of course. After all, you want them to love it as much as you do. We’ve put together some essential things to remember, if you’re bringing someone new to Greenbelt.

1. Greenbelt is four days spent outside, away from the stresses of real life. Once you’ve taken up residence in a beautiful field just outside Kettering, the fun can begin. Ease them in gently. A brew in a camping mug. A slow wander through the festival village. Sit outside the Jesus Arms and introduce them to your mates as they wander by (which they will).

2. Trying to describe Greenbelt beforehand is almost impossible, so now they’re here – let them figure it out for themselves. And once they’ve settled in, chuck them in at the deep end. Let them stumble from Taizé worship to a rowdy late-night set at the Rebel Rouser. From a conversation about the future of democracy to a badge-making workshop to a gobsmacking circus show to some slam poetry. Soak it all up.

3. Some people swear by a falafel wrap whilst gazing out over the lake. For others it’s sitting under a tree outside the Canopy with a book they never quite get round to reading. Maybe it’s raving at the Hot House until your feet hurt. If you have a favourite thing you love to do at Greenbelt, then remember to share your tiny rituals.

4. Remind them about the Saturday morning Greenbeltrun 5k. Either so they can bring their trainers and join in this weirdly joyful festival tradition. Or so they can skip it entirely and enjoy a lie-in.

5. Remember that for three days you can watch as much brilliant comedy, dance, spoken word and theatre as you like. Encourage them to fill their boots. Why not take a chance on something you’d never normally book (and afterwards wonder why you don’t do that more often)?

6. Some of the best Greenbelt moments happen because you were on your way somewhere else entirely. Encourage them not to over-plan. Leave gaps in the middle of the afternoon. Listen out for basslines and follow them. Enjoy getting lost.
