As more messages were received via the iPhone emergency call centre it became clear they were not able to pack up and walk back to their car at Seathwaite, so a small team went out to assist. The couple were very apologetic but gained experience and learnt lessons for their next camping adventure.

As a volunteer-led charity, 100% of our rescue operations are funded by your generosity. We often receive offers from the public to buy our team a coffee or a pint as a token of thanks. With good reason we do not use core charitable donations for social purposes.

We have therefore introduced a 'Buy Me a Coffee' platform to manage a separate social fund. This fund supports team well-being and social interaction away from active duty.
