Keswick Scout Group

Keswick Scout Group Over 120 young people belong to Keswick Scouts - Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers. All this makes it appealing to boys and girls of all ages.

The group has a very friendly atmosphere, it is a great way to get active, learn new skills and most of all have fun! This could not be accomplished of course without the help and support of all members plus leaders and parent helpers.

Our young people will be out and about with collection pots in Keswick town centre tomorrow hoping to boost funds for Scouting activities and adventure.

Please support them if you have any loose change, or seek out our card reader in Museum Square (see Leaders Gillian or Bob).

Thanks in advance for your support.

Our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers were out in force showing they're not afraid of a bit of hard work, helping keep a great Keswick event clean and tidy. Thank you to everyone who leant into this weekend’s Keswick Mountain Festival.

But we also did something special, we had a little fun too! Scouts led a stand showing everyone what sort of fun we have; from some awesome pioneering, fire making, tent building… and a few knots thrown in for good measure. We think people were a little amazed at what we get up to.

The best advertisement for the Group we can produce. We also received some donations, which we’re enormously grateful for.

Would you believe that underneath this parachute, an entire Beaver Colony are pretending to be sleepy bunnies? It was the only quiet moment in a full-on 90 minute meeting 🤣💕.
“Ashness Outdoorsy” session at our Ashness Hut - lots of chatter, tree identification, dancing, singing and traditional games in a stunning location.

For a century, Sir David Attenborough has inspired generations to look more closely at the world around them, to be curious, adventurous, and to value the natural world we all share. 🌍

Long before becoming one of the world’s most respected broadcasters and conservation voices, he was a Wolf Cub, Scout, and Senior Scout. Those early experiences of adventure, discovery, and learning outdoors helped shape a lifelong passion for exploration and nature.

Reflecting on his time in Scouts, Sir David once said:

“I remember my time as a Wolf Cub very well indeed. We learned a lot of useful things and had a great deal of fun. I hope you all do too.”

That spirit still lives on in Scouting today. Every week across Cumbria, young people are building confidence, making friends, discovering new skills, and developing a deeper connection with the outdoors.

Thank you, Sir David, for reminding the world never to lose its sense of wonder.

Happy 100th Birthday from everyone at Cumbria Scouts! ⚜️🌱
