Lean in to the longer nights with a Dark Skies weekend with a difference.

Think star gazing, space themed activities, cosy campfires and night time swims in our hydrotherapy pool with a view!

This November, we're taking advantage of the plentiful night skies during the and inviting guests to a very special Themed Weekend.

Where is Calvert Lakes?
.. the clue is in the title! Just north of Keswick, and in the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site Lake District National Park, Calvert Lakes sits above the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, nestled in the trees of Dodd Wood with mountains on all sides.

What better place to try something new, explore gorgeous natural landscapes and make new friends?!

It's A Doddle is back with a bang for 2026! Here's a preview of the route from Calvert Lakes to the col - 269m of ascent, logged on Strava.

Fancy joining our Everesting challenge? Complete 1, 2 or 33 ascents and help us climb as many Mount Everests collectively in 24 hours to raise money during our Big Give Christmas Challenge. Every entry fee and donation is doubled meaning your contribution has twice the impact.

We understand that seeing the path and terrain, understanding the route and planning for your challenge is super important so our Cheryl took her cargo bike for a spin and filmed the ascent and descent (she doesn't need much persuasion to get her ride out!).

As this challenge will look different for everyone, we're inviting our community to run, ride, wheel, bounce or walk the route in aid of a good cause. Oh and we have some wheels you can borrow too - just ask us for more info.

👀 Is Calvert Lakes really accessible and inclusive?!

It’s very easy to talk about inclusivity and accessibility, but when it comes to visiting somewhere new, managing expectations is key to creating a space that EVERYONE can access.

For us, being truly inclusive is about removing barriers to access so that everyone can participate. This applies to our accommodation, facilities, activities, and even the way we treat our guests and colleagues.

That’s why we created an interactive accessible site tour of Calvert Lakes.

You can explore the site before you arrive, get a feel for the different spaces, see what’s where and start planning your visit around your own needs.

Because accessibility isn’t one-size-fits-all. What works well for one person might not work for someone else.

Our aim is simple. We try to remove as many barriers as we can, reduce the unknowns and give everyone the information they need to make informed choices about where they go.

Whether you’re visiting for the first time, supporting someone new, or simply like to know what to expect, our site tour lets you have a look around before you get here.

Love this from Amputation Foundation following their visit last month.

Our adventure activities are adapted for people of all ages, abilities, shapes and sizes and no two sessions ever look the same!

Something our activity breaks do all share is that they're open to EVERYONE, ensuring all guests can share fun experiences, take part at a level that suits them, and maybe learn something new along the way.
