One month on from the Michelmores 5K Charity Run 2025

It’s hard to believe it’s already been nearly a month since over 1,000 runners, supporters, businesses, and friends came together on Exeter’s Quayside to raise more than £26,000 for FearFree, a charity providing vital support to those affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking.

Now in its 24th year, the Run wasn’t just about the race – it was a celebration of community, resilience and collective action. The energy on the day was incredible, but the impact continues to be felt long after the finish line was crossed.

Community events like this remind us that together, we can navigate change and build stronger networks – both inside and outside the workplace.

Together, we raised over £26,000 for FearFree!

A huge thank you to every runner, supporter, volunteer, and sponsor who made the 2025 Michelmores 5K Charity Run such a success. Your energy and generosity helped raise over £26,000 in support of FearFree, a charity doing vital work with individuals and families affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence, and stalking across the South West.

The Quayside was buzzing with community spirit, and we’re proud to continue building on over £400,000 raised for local charities since the Run began.

Our 2025 Michelmores 5K Charity Run returned to Exeter’s historic Quayside on Thursday 11 September with a sell-out crowd of over 1,000 runners and supporters – all united in raising vital funds for FearFree, a charity supporting individuals and families affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence, and stalking.

Now in its 24th year, the Michelmores 5K has become a beloved local tradition, bringing together businesses, running clubs, families, and friends for an inspiring evening of sport, community, and purpose. Thanks to everyone involved, the event has raised over £400,000 for charities since it began.

This year’s race was hosted by former Exeter Chiefs rugby player Chris Bentley and showcased some incredible talent, including winners Morgan Kendall, Caitlin Apps, Richard Daniels, Cathy Parkinson, and more.

With fewer sponsors this year, we’re reaching out to our community to help us keep the momentum going. British weather: 1 – Gazebos: 0

A huge shoutout to the brilliant team at Lutzy's Coffee Shop on Exeter Quay, who came to our rescue last week when the classic British combination of wind and rain made short work of our gazebos when setting up our pack collection for the Michelmores 5K Charity Run.

Thankfully, Lutzy’s kindly let us use their outside space — enabling us to move our pack collection under their shelter from the rain. We are extremely grateful for their support!

If you’re ever down on the Quay, do stop by Lutzy’s for a coffee and a warm welcome from the lovely team!

The Michelmores 5k Charity Run returned with a bang yesterday, as we welcomed hundreds of runners, volunteers, and supporters to Exeter’s buzzing Quayside! 🎉

With 1,000 participants ‘going the distance’ and an incredible turnout of volunteers and spectators, the Run was a huge success! Together, we helped foster a positive future for our local communities by raising funds for our charity partner, 🙌

Get ready! Here’s everything you need to know for the Michelmores 5k Charity Run! 🎉🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

📦 Pack collection: Race Numbers and T-shirts will be available to collect on the day. On arrival, head to the Race Pack Collection & Info Hub from 4.30pm to collect your pack. Please arrive no later than 5.15pm. (Please note: the packs are ordered alphabetically by surname)

🎒 Bag Drop: You may leave one small bag in the Bag Drop area, located at Boatyard Bakery, before 5.40pm. Please use the luggage tag attached to your Race Number by carefully tearing it off and attaching it to your bag before leaving it at the Bag Drop. Staff will be available to assist you. Due to limited space, if possible, please ask your colleagues, friends, or family who are spectating to look after your bag.

Race Day Timings:
4:30 pm: Race Village opens and activities begin
5:15 pm: Last call for Race Pack Collection
5:40 pm: Warm-up
6:00 pm: Charity Run start time
Until 8:30 pm: Entertainment, awards, and refreshments
