👻S P O O K Y!!! 👻

Do you ever feel that certain spots around the village have a 'certain' energy?

I didn't realise quite how many ghostly spirits inhabited the Parish until I had a long chat with Steve Green the other day as we organised this event, but I must admit, there are certain places where even our husky seems loath to venture!

The Famous Hougham Ghost Walk is taking place again this year, on the 30th of October, led by Steve, just before All Hallows Eve, and I know this is going to be a very special event, full of atmosphere and intriguing facts about the hauntings that have been recorded around the Parish.

Steve has a wealth of knowledge on the subject and this is going to get booked up very quickly, especially as the numbers are limited. BOOK TODAY.

This coincides with our Pop-up Pub Night, which is on the last Friday of every month, so bring along your own drinks to go with your spuds!!

Last weekend, we were very lucky to have a skip given to us as a gesture of goodwill, which meant an impromptu working party was gathered to work on clearing the drive at Hougham Village Hall in order to make way for more car parking spaces.

I would like to say a big thank you to Pete Ulyatt who came to join members of the team, generously giving up his morning on Saturday.

THIS Saturday, we have our OFFICIAL Community Working Party Event.

Also, a BIG SHOUT OUT to Rozanah Ludlow and William. With Mum's support, William has been gathering plants for the hall gardens, scouring through FREE listings, writing to garden centres and generally showing a brilliant, community spirit with all the hours he has put in to making the hall gardens ever more attractive. He has so many exciting plans going forward. We all look forward to seeing what he comes up with!

Have you seen what's now growing in the hall gardens? I'm sure you'll agree that it's already looking amazing.

While we're on the subject of the garden, I'd like to thank Steve Tomkinson for keeping the lawns under control recently and also to praise all of our team of volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure HVHT continues to thrive as a charity that works to keep the hall open for ALL residents.

BUT, without the support of our local residents, the viability of our ONE remaining community hub continues to be in jeopardy.

We need YOU!!!!

So, let's see how many people in the parish can spare an hour on Saturday.

Let's make it THE BEST community event yet. See you there.

A huge thanks to Sarah Andrews and her family for putting such a lot of time and effort into making this evening's pop-up pub a success.

Thanks, too, to the fantastic bunch of people who came along to support the event and, of course Hougham Village Hall.
