TRACK READY has seen young people getting to know each other, chatting about their confidence on the bikes and taking part in balancing and control activities.

We have carried out m-checks and observed individual abilities to support progression throughout the programme.

It was great to see different confidence levels, positive engagement between young people and 1-1 support from our pump track team helping everyone feel included.

These sessions are giving us a solid starting point as we continue to work towards confidence building, skills and progression over the 10 week block. 🚴

Riders at a Fife pump track can now test their speed, track their progress and compete with people from around the world thanks to the installation of pioneering new technology.

Vorld, designed by global pump track specialists Velosolutions, allows riders at Kennoway Pump Track to use their smartphones to accurately time laps, view local rankings and take part in global leaderboards and community challenges through the Vorld app.

With only one other pump track in Scotland currently using the system, the track alongside the Sandybrae Community Centre is now one of a small number of sites nationally offering this enhanced digital riding experience.

Installed earlier this month, the system is already proving popular with local riders, who can now record their lap times and appear on international leaderboards - helping to put Sandybrae firmly on the map within the global pump track community.

Kennoway Pump Track has become a well-used community space since opening in the summer of 2022, and has shown how high-quality, free-to-use cycling infrastructure can encourage physical activity, offer positive opportunities for young people, and create inclusive spaces for riders of all ages and abilities.

The £200,000 track, which was designed and built by Velosolutions, was funded via a range of sources including sportscotland’s Cycling Facilities Fund, Fife Council, the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, Levenmouth Reconnected, Velux, Technip FMC and Together Levenmouth.

With the Vorld infrastructure in place, riders can now access the system by downloading the Vorld app at www.vorld.com and following the instructions on-site.

Anyone interested in finding out more or seeing the system in action is encouraged to get in touch with Sandybrae Community Centre.

What an amazing day we had at our STEM Goblin KART Race Day 🏎️🏁

The young people were absolutely fantastic - they faced fears, worked together, supported each other and most importantly had lots of fun.

Over the past 10 weeks young people have worked hard - designing, building, problem solving and learning real engineering and mechanics skills. Today they got to put all that learning into action.

Teams Big Mac FC and Capy Racers went head to head in some brilliant races and then smashed their individual timed laps with determination.

A huge well done to Capy Racers for taking the team win and a massive shout out to Sophia for her brilliant individual victory. 🏆

It was also good to see families, teachers and classmates cheering them on from the side lines.

We are very proud of all the young people - what a team and what a day ❤️

Huge Congratulations to our Cooking 4 Life group 🎉

Over the last 10 weeks our young people have worked incredibly hard to learn a range of basic cooking skills and preparing full dishes with confidence.

Last night they put all that effort into action by delivering a celebration meal for their families and friends. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was brilliant and the feedback from everyone who attended was positive, full of pride and admiration for the young people. ⭐️

We are so proud of the progress every young person has made - the confidence, the teamwork, independence and skills they have developed has been amazing to see.

A massive well done to all the young people especially the 5 participants who have achieved their Elementary Cooking Skills accreditation. This accreditation is for young people P7 and above, their hard work absolutely shown through. 🎓

Well done everyone you should be very proud of yourselves ❤️

Here’s to more cooking, more learning and more confidence building in the kitchen. 🍽️

Contact lisa hunter at Sandybrae community centre for more information about our Cooking 4 Life programme.

⭐️STEM at Sandybrae today⭐️

Kennoway Primary School young people had a brilliant time at Sandybrae diving into some hands on STEM learning.

⚒️ They learned all about steering racks, explored different components and practiced using tools safely - real engineering skills in action.

Then it was time for some creative problem solving - with the classic challenge - build a free standing tower using only marshmallows and spaghetti. Lots of teamwork, laughter, creativity and some seriously impressive designs.

Huge well done to all the young people involved. Their enthusiasm, curiosity and teamwork was fantastic to see. Massive well done to Daniel for being our STAR 🌟 of the week.
