If there is anyone starting in Y7 at Kenilworth School & Sixth Form in September and wanting to cycle to school but not quite sure where to start or what route to take...
..then please come and join our Bike Gang...everyone is welcome...and it is completely free...you will need a roadworthy bike and helmet.

I am a qualified Cycling Instructor and teach Bikeability in schools. I will be leading the rides with Green Zoe Leventhal and other volunteers.

We'll be riding to and from Kenilworth School for each day of the Y7 summer school - Monday 22nd July till Friday 26th July. You don't have to be attending the summer school, but you can join us for the ride.

Hopefully it'll give you more confidence on your bike, it'll be an opportunity to learn the route and a great way to meet new people and make new friends that are also starting at Kenilworth School.

After a successful day of planting thanks to Friends of Talisman Square and Bee Friendly Kenilworth the plants are in!

We would like to thank Jones Family Jewellers, KATA allotments and chair Pete Hayes, The Kenilworth School & Sixth Form Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust Geography department and the community spirit of Kenilworth.

** URGENT PLEA**

Due to the ever approaching deadline for the Talisman planting to be moved, a proportion of the plants are due to be moved to the school on Sunday!

However we are in urgent need of around 20 bags of compost to ensure the survival of the planting!

If you have any compost that you are willing to donate then please comment on this post or PM us on Instagram and Facebook and then when we get more information on where to drop off the compost on 7/3/24 I will be in contact.

Please if you are able to donate anything we will be ever so grateful and it will help to increase the likelihood of survival of the plants!

On Tuesday Kate and Joe, met with various local groups such as the Kenilworth Town Council Climate Group and Friends of Talisman Square. They discussed on how we as a committee and the school are working to reduce waste, increase biodiversity and improving transport to the site. We produced various answers to the participants questions and they offered solutions to some of our problems and concerns.
We hope to continue working with the KTC in the future and ensure they can help the future community.

We have had a very busy week on the Committee on the wonderful Geography Field Trip to Iceland this week. We visited wonderfall waterfalls such as Skogafoss and Gullfoss, we saw the wonderful balck sand beaches of Reynisdrangar and the cave, arches and stack of Dyrhólaey beach.
Further to this we were able to see the Volcano that geography students at Kenilworth learn about at GCSE and Alevel - Eyjafjallajökull.
The highlight to many of us of the trip was seeing the breathtaking Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights which was incredible for everyone.

We would like to say a huge thank you to the Geogrpahy Teachers at Kenilworth School & Sixth Form and Discover the World Education for the amazing time!
