13?

why is the number 13 significant?

apart from being one of my favourite numbers

13 is the number (average) of daily completed male suicides in the UK alone! Still the biggest killer of men under the age of 40 in the UK. Imagine how many more attempts their are!

over 95% of the prison population is male.

men make up the biggest % of both perpetrators and victims of violent crime

not discounting other genders experience or challenges, we are all having a human experience... and at times it is tough

Mental health waiting lists for support are ridiculous

I observe unresolved grief, hyper stress and loss of identity in our communities

Grateful that the conversation about mental health is happening but many organisations have differing versions of what mental health actually is there is no wide consensus of what it means AND from my observation it is still heavily stigmatised, you do not have to be suicidal to suffer with mental health but if you do not find a balance it can be crippling...

There are not many spaces where men can go and talk, be their authentic self and be listened to. Not many at all, especially ones of a positive nature... the stats speak for themselves, something is wrong.

We are fortunate enough to host a mens wellness group in Kenilworth at Berkeley House (above the tree House bookshop) every Thursday from the 25th March, 6pm start... in support from Sync Education, Eiraya Wellness and Kenilworth Town Council.

It is a 22 week bespoke and at times participant led wellness project that will be documented with very limited spaces so please get in touch for info and to secure your place. If you are a man aged 18+ to 99 and reside in Kenilworth (or know of a man please tag them) that would benefit from a weekly wellness meeting with people in your town and support from a widely experienced team then please get in touch via here or email [email protected]

A call to men of Warwick District

THE ART OF BROTHERHOOD has been in operation since the first lockdown as a closed mens circle. We are a diverse group of men exploring what it means to be a man, supporting each others goals and creating a new model for mens work.

We are now hosting open bi-weekly online meets for men in Warwick District.

We are building a new mens wellness community and in doing so exploring our individual and collective potential as being agents for change.

if you are interested in meeting new people, exploring healthy connection, exploring yourself and creating a new model for mens support in our community then please message or email [email protected] to find out more and how to get involved.

Tell us a little about yourself and inform us of your availability for a zoom chat prior to our first open group meet (details tbc).

We look forward to hearing from you
