Not long to go now….

Choose your craft, tickets are just £200 for members, £220 for non-members and they get you into Weekend in the Woods from Friday to Sunday, and include breakfast, lunch, campfire and BBQ on Saturday night and amazing company from fellow crafters and woodland folk 🌳

Matt Whittaker - Beginners Blacksmithing

On this course you will first become familiar with hand cranked charcoal hearths on which you will heat up the steel to be forged.

Matt will then take you through the basics of forging your own items, starting off with a small S-hook, then moving onto more demanding coat hooks.

After lunch we move onto bottle openers which use your new skills to the full.

Day two starts with a coat hook warmup to refresh the mind and body. Then the day moves onto larger projects such as decorative fire pokers and toasting forks.

The cyntell is a round frame basket - a hazel hoop, split osier ribs and woven with basket willow.

During this course, we will cover all aspects of this classic frame basket. No previous experience is necessary but it will require two full days for everyone to complete their own basket

Join us for a hands-on pole-lathe turning workshop, where you’ll create your own bowl to take away. This foot-powered method requires focus and energy, offering a rewarding journey into traditional woodworking.

You’ll learn material selection, wood preparation, and how to turn on a pole lathe. Emphasis will be on safe technique, process, and the joy of working with green wood.
