Sunday Walk – Orrest Head, Windermere 🌿🥾

This afternoon I’m out walking with Penny & Sally to warm up for our walk this Sunday at Orrest Head in Windermere.

I’m really looking forward to seeing you there!

Details:�📍 Meet at Windermere Train Station car park�🗓 Sunday 8th March�⏰ 10:30 AM

Please bring:
* Comfortable walking boots
* A raincoat/trousers (It looks like there’s over a 40% chance of rain) 🌧️
* Your lunch or a snack

Please be prepared for the weather and arrive on time.

If you’d like to join, please message me privately so I know the numbers. I don’t want to start the walk if anyone arrives late.

Morning walk to Arnside with Penny 🌞

What a truly beautiful day, warm sunshine, clear blue skies, and that lovely fresh spring air. It finally feels like brighter days are on the way.

We walked 5.27 miles in 1 hour 58 minutes. Feeling grateful for the movement, the views, and sweet time together 💛

🌿 Join Us for Our First Walking with Lakes BSL Tour with Nicky 🌿

Hello everyone 👋

We’re excited to announce our first Walking with Lakes BSL tour with Nicky and you’re warmly invited to join us 🤗

🗓 Date: Sunday 8th March
⏰ Time: 10:30am
📍 Meeting Point: Windermere Train Station car park
🅿️ Parking: Broad Street Car Park (LA23 2AB)
🚗 Or anywhere in Windermere (‼️It is advised to avoid, or be very careful with, limited roadside parking in the area‼️)

We’ll be exploring Orrest Head in the beautiful Lake District.
Orrest Head is a popular 238-metre (781 ft) hill located in Windermere. It offers stunning panoramic views over Lake Windermere and the surrounding fells — and on a clear day, we might even see the Irish Sea.

This circular walk has beautiful scenery, making the effort to reach the top totally worth it. During the walk, I will also explain the history of Alfred Wainwright and his connection to this special place 📙🌲🍁

Look out for the Gruffalo sculpture around the halfway point - great encouragement milestone to get kids moving! There are also a couple of money trees and several benches en route if you need to stop for a snack break.

⚠️ The path can be slippery when wet, so please wear hiking boots or footwear with good grip and take care.

🥾 Walk Details:
📏 Distance: 4.5 km circular
⬆️ Elevation gain: 160m
⏱ Duration: 1–1.5 hours
💪 Difficulty: Easy to Moderate (some steep, stepped sections)
💚 Cost: FREE! Everyone is welcome
🐶 including well-behaved, healthy dogs

☕ After the walk:
We can go into Windermere town for coffee ☕ and cake 🍰 and enjoy a friendly chat — a perfect way to relax after our first walk together.
